I can say that I have been ordering daylilies the past couple of years as my gift. My dear knows how I feel about cut roses! I was wondering if others receive gardening gifts too.
Teresa
Valentine's Day is near what do you want?
DAYLILIES FOR ME!!!!!! :)
I want it to stop snowing.
I always get cut flowers, no other thought put into it but wich color this year, and then he takes me to the Outback steakhouse. "drool"
He gave me sort of an early all year gift last night, he came home from work with my car(hes a mechanic) and told me to go check out my radio, I was sceptical, thought he replaced it with something I didnt need or want. When I went out and turned on the car he had the digital display read "I LUV U". That liitle romantic bone pops thru once in a while.
We buy little gifts for the kids but don't do anything for each other. Ahhhh, the joys of parenthood. :)
I've got an ultrasound appointment at the vet that day, I want to hear that pups are on the way!!
Deb
Going out to dinner, Outback sounds good!
I hinted about a small garden fountain on sale, but didn't get anywhere. I'll take the bloomin onion.
I want my mantis tiller handle fixed!
oo oo ooo you just reminded me of a fountain/bird bath I saw at kmart. hhmmmm
great idea i have 75.00 gift certificat for outback an hubby said it sounds great!!!!!!!
Dont forget to get to the Outback early, I dont think you can make a reservation there, it gets really packed on holidays.
i asked BF for a grow light bulb!! haha he said, 'easy enough!'
I'd like to have a glass room attached to the house, but I think that is a bit too much to ask for, so I'll just be happy with a hug and a kiss and I always get the nicest Valentine's Day card from my sweetie.
Spring weather and plants would be great.
Forty years ago the answer would have been Crown Royal a faster car and a real heart throb to chase.
Todays answer is Pepsi Cola the GTO finished and another year with Linda. Ernie
Well, heck, Ernie... that's not downsizing, that's just a reality check! LOL!
I was pretty surprised by this question. I've been trying to make sure I have something ready for my loved ones for Valentines Day. I've got some goodies ready to send to a good friend who lost her husband a couple years ago, a box of candy for my DH, some Hershey Huggies for my two grown sons. What I want from Valentine's Day is for the people I love to know I love them and remembered them that day.
Of course, a trip to Outback would be cool, but we'd have to travel 120 miles to get there! Maybe I can talk my DH into cooking steaks on the grill. He looks pretty sexy in his parka with a spatula!
Momcat - puppies? Whose, Willow's? How exciting!
ernie thats so sweet!
I manage two flower shops, so the last thing I want is store bought cut flowers!!! I do want everyone to arrive to work on time and for all of our 2000+ deliveries to be made without problems!! I would like a massage after Valentine's Day, then maybe a nice steak dinner. I guess I have a different perspective!
I would love a gift certificate to my favorite nursery or a Mantis tiller. I will probably get a kiss and a hug and a Happy Valentines Day which is wonderful too. Mostly I would love for our health to be good for the year.
I will thaw a couple of steaks from our freezer beef that we raised and make our son cook them on the bar-b. YUMMM
I think I remember what the BBQ looks like, it's under a pile of snow.
We keep ours on the porch, lotsadirt, but the way things are going, it may get buried anyway!
Ours is under the big oak tree with about two inches of snow on it. That oak really keeps the snow away from underneath.
I want a heart filled bookmark inside a great garden book about saving seeds. lol! Like he'd EVER understand that! hee hee!
my little boy Simon was born on Valentines day. He was my gift to dh and I love to have them both close to me on the day!
My spousal unit bought me 2 roses bushes yesterday. One was Marmalade Skies and the other was Tropicana, my all-time favorite (introduced the year my son was born).
Ernie, how about posting a picture of that GTO. I really used to love those cars, in fact, my whole extended families drove Pontiacs exclusively in those days......
Woodspirit I will when it is finished right now all the mechanical is done and it is strong and the bogy work is 99 percent ready to paint but the windows doors and interior are out of the car.
Was a time I had 80 roses and Tropicana was one of them seems to me it was an orangish sweet smelling rose that was prone to black spot anyway it was Lindas favorite. Ernie
Yes it is an orange/red and very fragrant. It won more awards than any other rose that year, 11 I think. It is also easy to root. I haven't had much black spot trouble with roses here even though this is a rainy area, go figure!
Wood along with the rain I had shade after about four so they were really grown in a compromising location. Ernie
I want the kids to go to grandma's so hubby and I can have some much needed time alone! (I think I'm getting what I'm wishing for!)
Just getting back to the computer. Thanks for the replies.
I think everyone still likes a Valentine card. I love to send them and receive them also. Chocolates are never out of style at my house either!
Since my husband is leaving in 2 weeks for Qatar, some friends of our are going to keep our kiddos for the evening and we're going to have a dinner ALONE and talk to each other without being interrupted by anyone under the age of 18.
Awww Carla, that sounds great! I hope you have a wonderful evening together. Just the two of you.
Lani
Carla, I am jealous..lol.
I love being with my children, but sometimes parents just need time to themselves.
I will tell you that one year, I filled our bedroom full of heart-shaped mylar balloons and asked my husband to come home for lunch. I was fixing something special for him. ME! :)
There are so many neat things to do that don't cost much at all. Go buy a bag of Hershey's kisses and trail them through the house with little notes attached to some of them telling him that he'll get the "real thing" when he finds the end of the Hershey's trail.
Stick a pair of your sexiest panties in between the pages of his planner (or in his lunch box after it's packed) and let him discover them where he works. Be sure to add a little teasing note. :) He may have some explaining to do in his next meeting or in the cafeteria, but it will be worth it. All of his guy-friends will be SO jealous.
Get creative, folks. Our marriages will be better for it.
Weez I would be in big trouble again if I did that in fact she would get someone else to load the gun I love it I am laughing so hard you have given me my present Ernie
;D
