Seward, AK(Zone 3b)

Thanks, everybody! It's been a great birthday, so far. My DH is cooking tonight, boneless rib steaks on the grill (he'd better wear a parka!). So far, I've had a lazy day. It's snowing lightly, about about 29F outside. It's a lovely sight from my office area window on the upper floor of our house.

My eldest son made me a necklace of stone beads and mammoth ivory.

And my DH gave me this lovely frog sculpture... I have a soft spot for toads and frogs.

Yes, we Alaskans are 'behind the times' aren't we! I feel like the night rider sometimes. Yes, I'm going to celebrate again tomorrow. My DH has promised to take me to the dump!

Everson, WA(Zone 8a)

Weez alright a trip to the dump. When Linda and I were first married we often went to the dump on sunday to shoot rats. Darned if I would load the gun for her now lol. Ernie

Seward, AK(Zone 3b)

Ah, Ernie... she can probably load it herself by now! I'm a second-hand sort of gal myself. I'd rather visit a garage sale than a department store, and the dump is even better. Now that our dump is a transfer facility, we have to get permission to go in the back lot, so it requires hauling in items that don't go in the building. We always keep a few token back lot refuse such as boards, cement, steel, etc so that we can go in the back and get to the booty! I've found old metal garbage cans for compost, timbers and concrete for raised beds,... and all free! I hope you and your sweetie didn't shoot any of the good stuff!

Wow, what beautiful presents -- and a fine dinner prepared by loving hands -- and a beautiful view, inside and outside your house -- it really does sound like a happy birthday!

Mount Prospect, IL(Zone 5a)

Happy Birthday Weez! It sounds like you had a wonderful Birthday! (Maybe to round out the day, Psilo will let you take a little spin in her new chair!)

Seward, AK(Zone 3b)

Yeah, sure, when pigs fly. I think she's on to us. Oh, well, I don't care. I've had two cocktails and the chair is much softer... Happy birthday to me.

Efland, NC(Zone 7a)

Not a problem, Wantabe. Here in Seward it is still early.. as I write it is 8:45 pm, so you have missed nothing as far as I am concerned!

Payneville, KY(Zone 7a)

Weezing, Happy Birthday. I was to say I was sorry I was late also, but you are right....in your neck of the world, you are still birthday bound. Hope you are having a wonderful day, night...How's your weather there, BTW? :) Kathy

Lincoln City, OR(Zone 9a)

I sure hope you had a great day. I thought I had posted but my mind and my hands didn't make a connection.

Hippo Birddog two ewes.

I have a frog statue kinda like yours. I love the see no evil, speak no evil and hear no evil since that was a really popular saying when we lived in Taiwan. Mom has five or six statues of various critters in this pose.

Anyway I sure am sorry I messed up but this time I promise I won't. lol
