I have had this brug for about 9 years and it has never bloomed for me - all I did was water it without ever knowing its potential. I just went outside and looked at my brugs....lookie what I found!...OOOOOH WEEEEEE!...I have never seen a bloom in person soooo I am so excited! Checked my others and they have little buds on them too....
This bud is a direct result of the great info posted here by the great advice givers and helpers here on DG Brug forum. A big THANKS goes out to you. Without all the info posted here (and my application) I know, without a doubt, I would not be seeing this little bloom.

Bless your heart, five years with no blooms! You deserve to have spectacular blooms.
Congratulations!
I confess, I made a boo-boo...I accidentally pulled this little guy off when I was looking today. Since I have never seen a bloom before and unfamiliar, I simply thought this bloom was a dud...why you ask? Well, when I saw it I was in shock! Then when I touched it, it felt like paper and empty inside - then I tugged on it and it gave way. Well, I am sick over it now because I know he was definately not a dud. You see, what I did not know is that the flower part was up high inside....
I opened it up and this is what it looked like inside....
Facts known:
5 stamens
5 corollas
oh noooooo!!! but you'll have tons more this summer!
Good news tho - I left the rest alone!...lol...
Golly, Moonlighting, it's wonderful that your brugs are blooming in late January. I live San Antonio and we have already had 17 nights below freezing. You wouldn't think there would be that much difference in our weather. I'm jealous.
Minnigrannie - LOL, I'm jealous of your cooler weather in the summer...
I'm not sure it is any cooler. lol Sure hope your other buds hold on for you. I can just imagine your excitement waiting for them to bloom.
Boy, oh Boy what a little fertilizer will do....LOl...
You shoulda heard her when she watched me mix up a batch to fertilize my Brugs yesterday......LOL
Congratulations, you should have blooms soon and we sure wanna see'um.
I'll bet most of us have done something similar. You will have lots of blooms to come. Just keep your hands in your pockets when you go out to look. LOL!!
Yeah, lol....
LOL, great picture SB...
Glad you have more Moon! Gosh! 5 years sure is long enough to wait! Congratulations!!!

five years?----you have such a nice long attention span :) sorry bout your bud, perhaps nature is testing your patience one last time and will reward you with a triple blue and yellow bloom as big as your patience? *or maybe not:S* lol cheryl
You touched it and it fell off? So what happens if the wind blows it? When I put mine outside, do I need to find a real "quiet" place for it?
Whew!!! Nice color! How is the scent?
smells like citronella.....
The color is gorgeous!
Looks like it could be a V. Peach or V. Orange. Very pretty whatever it is.
I was going to say Tequila Sunrise, but i have never seen TS myself,I was going on what I was told this weekend.
Root - do you think they had TS about 9 years ago?
That is gorgeous! Congrats. I actually found myself getting closer to the screen hoping for a whiff... Am I sick or what?
I'm really happy for you, ML!
Very VERY pretty!!
I doubt TS is that old,It just fits, when I asked about the bloom color,I was told it acted like it did not know what color it wanted to be.
I hope you get a good ID cause I want one!
If it gets any orangey I'm gonna pass out....lol.
If it gets any darker,I am gonna pass out!LOL!!I have liked every phase it has gone through!
LOLOLOL Root....we posted at the same time.....
It certainly looks versicolor to me and the only one I know of that gets that dark is Versicolor Peach and it has a strong smell.
