Is your cooperii rooted? I would love some of that if it is. I have snow queen already. here is a picture of my el capitolo.

rylaff,

That is absolutely beautiful. I WANT IT~~~~

My cooperii is being rooted now. It should be a little while, maybe two weeks before it is ready to travel. The leaves fall of before they root so they are at that stage right now. I would like for it be nice and green with good roots before I sent it off. I hope this is O.K. with you. Shall I add you to the list of people to notify when it is ready. Do we have a deal? Please say yes!

Niceville, FL(Zone 8b)

Not a problem. Just yell when ready. I brought several cuttings in when the weather changed. Rooted and ready when you are. Blooms all summer long. In fact, some of the little rooted cuttings have continued to bloom inside the house this winter!

Hot Springs, AR(Zone 7b)

rylaff,

I has blooms on some yellow with red eye blooming cuttings DonnaB sent me. I started rooting them and the things bloom before the were completely rooted. I'll be checking on these around mid February and will let you know if they are rooted enough to travel.

Hi Daisy,

I looked at your website and it scared me to death. I am interested in your peach colored Capitolio. among others. Let's see if we can't trade. Hope I have a couple that you don't.

rylaff......I love so many plants that I see here but that hibiscus has me seriously considering plantlegging! ;) Where did you buy it?

Niceville, FL(Zone 8b)

I think I got it at Lowes last year.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Looks like you have them all, and I didn't think there was a chance I might have one you don't.

Niceville, FL(Zone 8b)

hibiscus, that is a pretty red one you have . What is its name and do you have any rooted cuttings?

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

That one is Country Music. Have lots of rooted plants.

Niceville, FL(Zone 8b)

Hibiscus, email me when it is warm enough there to trade. I would love to have one.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Ok...thanks!

Hot Springs, AR(Zone 7b)

Hibicus,

I would love your red "country music". Let me know when you want to trade. Probably a weel or so before I check rooting here. I don't want to disturb them before they are ready. Here is cooperii, not blooming here, but who needs blooms with this foliage.

Here is my Snow Queen in bloom....

Country music blooms in different colors, mostly red orange, but next time it might be lighter red/orange with tinge of yellow in middle. It is always blooming and beautiful no matter which color it might be, temps, sun etc, make it different colors, at different times. Cntry. M have been blooming all through winter in basement GH.

Daisy,I live in Ohio, so have to wait to ship, end of March, so they don't get frozen.

rylaff:

Is the red Capitolo variegated leaves?

Daisy:

Would have to start dbl yellow one from scratch. Will be awhile for it.

Hot Springs, AR(Zone 7b)

Hibiscus,

No problem on waiting. You can just sent it with the red "country music" we already agreed on. No hurry here. Your Peach El Capitolo is still in the rooting process as well as all my variegated hibiscus cuttings.

Daisy

Niceville, FL(Zone 8b)

Hibiscus, no the el capitolo is not variegated. The only variegated one I have is my snow queen.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Does the bloom look anything like the ElCapatolo. Do you have a pic?

Niceville, FL(Zone 8b)

Not a very good picture, but this is the picture of the bloom for snow queen. Kind of like el capitolo minus the pom pom and the white streaks.

Thumbnail by rylaff
Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

rylaff: Is this the same as your variegated one? Mine was real red.

Thumbnail by Hibiscus
Niceville, FL(Zone 8b)

Yea, I think it looks the same.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Which one has the nicest/biggest/color bloom, variegated or non?

We are on then, for some kind of trade?

OC, CA & Twin Lakes , IA(Zone 4b)

That does it!! You guys got me goin' I have been looking at the website for over a year now; think it is called Hidden Valley Hibiscus and they have such beauties!! Think I'll bite the bullet and buy a couple!

You guys just pushed me over the edge!

Hot Springs, AR(Zone 7b)

rylaff and hibiscus,

I have grown Snow Queen and cooperii for many years and the bloom is just like your green red hibiscus. I'm also rooting:

Hibiscus tileaceus Tricolor
HIBISCUS ROSA-SINENSIS GENERAL CORTEGES (VARIEGATA)
and one similiar to Cooperii only the stems are burgandy. This one reminds me of Christmas!

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Daisy:

My last pic was of the variegated leaf/red bloom. I lost the plant from spidermites this summer.

That hibiscus site is w-a-y out of my price range. Will not pay that for a hibiscus, unless it's made of pure gold!

Hot Springs, AR(Zone 7b)

moretz,

I'll be happy to trade with you. Just send me a list of anything you might have in the spring. My Hibiscus tileaceus Tricolor is currently rooting, so it will be mid spring before I can send anything out, provided they have a good root sistem to travel. I'll know more later when I dare check on the roots.

Hibiscus,

Was the variegated hibiscus you lost Cooperii? If so I can replace it for you...I'll just add it to you list of stuff..just say the word. ANNND that hibiscus site is way out of my price range also. LOL
