Can anyone help me out with suggestions on how to make maidenhair ferns flourish. My aunt had one in the 1960's and it was healthy and not in a terrarium. It got to be quite large. I have tried for years to make them live but after I get them they just get smaller and smaller and finally die. I have tried a terrarium, misting, and just planting in a pot. Now I have 3 of them sitting in a basin of rocks and pebbles for moisture, but they are slowing getting smaller. I have had this last bunch for about 3 years. Any hints would be appreciated. Thanks Woodi

i have always just given mine tons of water, in a north window. i mean TONS of water. any fern will do great, as long as they have the water to reproduce. i pick off dead leaves when they brown, and it seems to do great in these conditions.
if you dont like to water that much--sometimes for my ferns, if i know i'm going to be too busy to rememebr to water them for a while, i'll just fill their water dish with water- and that works too.
