It was 63 degrees here on Saturday and our low tonight is to be 10 degrees. We are having major flooding and the gravel pit where I work is really flooded . No work today and probably not tomorrow either. I hope the river goes down quickly or I may not work all week. Lou
Hey, after going through all of this nasty weather, maybe we will have the best spring and summer ever. Sure crossing my fingers for it. I'm asking for 80-85 degrees daily and one inch of rain each week. Is that too much to ask? Oh yes, wouldn't hurt to have 65 at night I think I might be pushing a little too hard now.............
It's been very warm for about a week, but we're supposed to get really cold now and I can hear the cold front wind howling outside as it approaches. I have also heard we may get snow Thursday and Friday here in NC mtns.
I have to put my 2 cents here. I can't really feel sorry for any of you. We are breaking cold records here. Last night-this morning minus 7 degrees. Now at almost 6 pm it is minus 3 degrees. the moon is almost full, that's when we get the worst cold it seems. However the weather man is predicting slight warming and snow storm warnings are out for tomorrow afternoon and Wed. I am not looking forward to that. This cold makes my furnace run almost all the time. It is trying to heat 2500 square feet and with that cold and we did have north winds too. Now not much wind, sure hope my water doesn't freeze. Donna
Gosh Donna, I hope you can stay warm. Sounds horrible. If you are like me, all I can think of is what I'll be doing when it finally warms and I can get outside. Take care and be very careful.
Brrr! Guess I shouldn't complain when it gets to to 27 deg. should I. Our weather has really not been bad, because even though we have had some freezing nights, the days have always warmed up so far. Just hated losing those little babies that so many generous people gave me.
That is odd they would actually die with the temp just went to 27 Sylvia. I lose my leaves but not my plant. Next frost maybe you should throw a sheet or towel over them. That is what I do.
This is what we are expecting over the next few days unless it is revised later today. So far this is the coldest it's been at my place and will be warming up again as you can see. Good thing I put all the brugs and passifloria back in the bubble house Sunday night......

My weather was pretty nice over Christmas (the high 70's during the day and 40's at night. Since the new year though its been cooler and today its downright frigid for this part of the world -- 34 at noon!
I have had the same problem trying to send mail to AOL users. My Mother and Dad each have AOL accounts as do several friends. AOL has bounced back everything I try to send stating that it will no longer accept mail from DSL servers!!! My Mother had to adjust her settings to accept all mail, and she can now receive from me. That's terrible though, because with that setting, there's no ontrol over the spam...

We had A/C on yesterday and heat on before we went to bed. High today only upper 40's and down to 25 expected for tonight. Will warm back up some then drop again in a day or 2 then right back up. We have a roller coaster winter always but would rather have that then constant cold.
okay something has changed drastically since the other day here is my forcast now!! this will be the GH's big test i will be up all night checking on my babies

It was supposed to be around 34 deg. last night with a high in the upper 50's to low 60's today. It got down to 29 and is still in the 30's. So much for our warmer than usual Winter they had forecast last Fall. So far we have had around 14 nights below freezing and that is more than we usually have all Winter. Brrrrrrrrr
Geez Sylvia, at least in Iowa we can expect freezing weather most of the time. That must be hard to get used to.
It really is hard on plants to be 80 deg. one day, down to freezing the next day or 2 and then back in the 70's. I think that is why I've lost so many all of a sudden. Also, when you know your Winter is going to be cold for several months you plan ahead.
The "Old Faithful" gold brugs that I have planted in the ground had frozen, but were leafing out again. Now they are zapped once more. Hope they can take this yo yo weather, as they are quite big and would hate to lose them.
Freezing here, - 11 below windchill
MOVE Deb MOVE!!!
Its strange how the weather down south is acting like it does up north in Fall.
One day it will be in the 70's and 24 hours later snow, then 2 days later its warm again and then a deep freeze...loose everything and the next week its like summer again....and you get all bummed out cause all the flowers are gone ....
