I am rooting starts of Salvia Greggi for the spring. Let me know who needs some, so I can get them started for you.
Will have: Salvia Gregii - Hot Pink
Hey there! I NEEEEEEEEEEED one. lol And look at this, I'm only 15 minutes from you! :)
I would love a start or so. I have blue mist spirea that is just starting to leaf out that I could try and root for you. I'm in Decatur. How far is Hiram from here?
Cool! YOu could come on over in the spring! I'm starting over from scratch right now, brought the starts back from Texas when I was there at Thanksgiving. Mother is digging and bringing it up in February. ALso have Artemesia, powis castle, and silver queen starting too. I love the silver leaved plants. I'll earmark a good start for you! These grow really well, full sun...little or no attention. I usualy plant it beside an artemesia, really interesting effect. Saw the same salvi in 4" pots at Gardendelights.com for over $8 a start......outrageous! I'll be glad to help you out. It might not be a large one, but it'll have good roots and it will really take off this spring when it warms up. I have it on an unheated porch right now.
Sounds great! I wonder what the color would look like next to my Magnus coneflower??? Clashing pinks? lol Hmm...I love hot colors and have tons of reds, yellows, oranges and pinks. I suppose it might look nice. In that area I have Magnus, black eyed susan, salvia (the huge dark blue one), pink mondarda, ice plant, sedums, blue/purple iris, dianthus barbarus, purple fountain grass, stella d'oro daylilies, sweet williams, cosmos, celosia...you get the idea. I'm a coloraholic!
pins, Hiram is out 20 minutes past Six Flags on 20 west.

Oh I would love some too please.
I'll get rooting ladies, and keep a running tab. I have more starts coming in next week from Mom's house, so will have plenty to go around this spring. I don't want to send them out without at least 4-6" of good strong roots on them, so will probably be end of February before I feel they are strong enough to leave here.
Pins2006 - I think you are only about 1/2 hour from me.
Eco, Pins, blooms, and DonnaB, you are on my list.
Thanks so much! I was planning on packing a picnic lunch when I go to see you but now it doesn't seem necessary. lol
I would like one also if you have enough.
Hmmmm.....did you forget me???? :-( I wanted some too.
Your datura seeds are going out Saturday. Let me know when you get them.

I would love to have a start.
When I can dig my way into my GH I will send you list of what I have rooted.
Thanks,
Honeybee
You're on the list honeybee!
spacecowgirl, I thought of you when the new Plant Delights catalog arrived, lots of salvias, including gregii(s). They mentioned Yucca Do Nursery as a prime source of great salvia, so maybe you'll take a look. Check out these nurseries on Garden Watch Dog BEFORE ordering, please!
Thanks!!!!!
I would love to have some of your Salvia. If you can wait til spring I can offer some Nepeta 'Walkers Low' cuttings then. Right now we are in a big deep freeze.
I'll add you to the list. It's going to be a little while, probably closer to warm-up time, before they are rooted enough for me to feel comfortable sending them out.
Pardancanda, I just gaze at the Garden Delights catalog..it's kind of a "wish list" type of book you know? I'll definitely watch the "watch dog" before i do any ordering this spring, I don't want to get bad plants.
I would love a start of this plant, it is the one that is hardy to zone 6! Is it too late to get on your list? I could do a trade or postage. LMK Thanks!

Not bad plants, just HIGH prices and even HIGHER shipping charges, plus a condescending non-guarantee.
If I am not to late I would really like to get a start of this. I am not sure what I should have several new things in the spring if they all make it through winter, and as yours get closer to being ready, I will see what I can offer you!!
Thanks and hoping I am not to late.
Alice
Aknapp, you're on the list.
Someday I promise I may remember what I am doing from one minute to the next!!!!
Sometimes I don't think I should be out alone.
Sorry for the second request.
Alice
I still have 3 more trades I can commit to on this plant, let me know if I've missed anyone on the list!
I finally broke down and googled it...I knew I shouldn't cause then I'd want one.....
And now I am asking.....PLEASE,may I get a start.....
I know I can find something you'd like in trade.....
Hey, spacecowgirl... if you have enough, I'd love a start! I know I will have room, wherever I end up this summer.
I would have posted this sooner but haven't been checking the Plant Trading forum, LOL. I don't expect to have anything to trade.
Spacecow girl, I'd love to have a start if you have any left.
I'd love to have a piece or two if you do have any left..
hugz
Lexy
any left? plmk
Darius, I'll keep the salvia Greggii potted up with your two purple plums, not a problem.
Crested Chick, AHelms, Moretz, and Shugahpop, will add you to list!
Everyone drop me your addresses so I can add it to my trade tracker please. Please put Dave's Salvia Greggii in the subject line so that I know it's y'all. We'll work out what we're trading when you send your address, alright?
spacecowgirl
i mailed you and thanks for trading
spacecowgirl, I'll either be down your way before the May GARU, or get them then. Are you coming to Knoxville for the ETRU?
Thanks!!!
I can't make it to Knoxville Darius, but will be at GARU.
Hey, girl! How 'bout rooting me a piece of your Hot Pink & I'll root you Coral Nymth & Lady in Red. I might could get some cuttings off the White Coccinea, too.
When are your folks coming over again or when are you coming home for a visit?
My kids live in Katy, Smockette. I"m hoping to go that way in March. I"ll root you some Smockette. Disaster struckk and my whole cutting shelf hit the ground last night, so we were cleaning up mud, and plant cuttings for over an hour, with two puppies right in the middle of all of it. It all seems to be rooting now, just waiting for new leaves to start popping up along the stems. I"ll let you guys know when I"m ready to ship, but would prefer to wait until March when it's warmer here and weather isn't so flip-floppy.
Sheryl,
Sorry, you had such a mess. I've had the happen many times, either
to much weight on my potting bench or one of those Tropical Storms blowing through.
How's the "Little Moma (doggy) to Be"! Sorry, you won't be able to make the Fl/Al RU.
Honeybee
She didn't cycle like we thought, but we're still waiting. I think we might be able to make florida if she keeps this up. Patience is I guess going to have to be a virtue with her, I guess.
