Keep an eye on your local Target stores. We just sold a ton of 'tropicals'/houseplants for $2 and $4. There were all sorts of palms, foliage plants, dracenas, etc. They ranged from 10" tall up to about 4' and were in 4-8" pots. They had to make room for other merchandise and clearanced them all.
Have: Rare tropicals, orchids, houseplants, etc. in PNW US!
Thanks Badseed (love your nick by the way) I'm heading to Target at lunch today so will be sure and take a peek

LOL I chose it before I realized I was a garden junky. Wanna know how hard it was to get those first few trades?? LOL
First, I'd like to apologize for disappearing off of Dave's Garden for so long. I did indeed lose access from my own computer at home and my access from work is very limited. Also, I've had very little time for much of anything. Thank you to all of those who contacted me and responded.
Now, I still have many of these plants. I found temporary homes for the orchids, and for many of the tropicals, which took some of the pressure off in January. A few were given away and one or two were traded. I'll be getting my orchids back again this weekend, and although the weather is better now and makes it easier to transport them I still have no place to keep them, so I guess I'll have to let them go.
A few of them have died, most of those in spike have either bloomed or aborted, and one is in bloom now (Dendrobium Veeravuith Brush). I or my wife are in the Puget Sound area most weekends (I'll be there tomorrow), if there is interest there, and otherwise I am in the Tri-Cities, WA.
I really don't want to auction off the orchids. If you are local please contact me by email and say where you are and when you are available (again, even if you've emailed already) and we'll work something out even if you don't have something in trade.
If you are elsewhere and want to trade, per my first message in this thread, make me an offer in this thread or point me to a specific list of what you have to trade.
I want to get rid of the orchids asap so I don't lose too many more, and then some of those tropicals that have survived (plumeria seedlings, palm seedlings). Several of the rare items (variegated monstera) may end up going to auction if I don't find a suitable trade since they are easy to ship and quite valuable on eBay.
I want to keep this to DG subscribers for now (since you're all such wonderful people) and if you really want something in particular on the list but don't fit into the categories above I'm not going to get upset if you email, I just might not be as quick to get back with you.
Finally, I'm sorry for the tantalizing start and then total disappearance, and I promise to become responsive once again now that I have good access to the internet. I will work on the backlog of posts on this thread and email (in the order of priority above) but it would be best to contact me again. Thanks.

I started through the backlog of email and realized that it's probably impractical to respond to them all, there are so many. Most people did not specify where they were located or what/whether they had anything to trade. I'm not even sure who's still interested. So I'm not going to respond to them all. Please contact me again, per my message above, especially if you are local. Thank you.
