Butterfly Bloom left from Santa!

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

I walked into the greenhouse this morning and found my first Butterfly Bloom with 3 buds remaining. Who would have ever guessed that it would bloom the day after Christmas?? Susie are you ready for this kind of weather?

You are so lucky, Frannie! All I see in my greenhouse are sleeping plants. It wouldnt suprise me, if I would hear a snoring here or there LOL!

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Monika you are so funny . . snoring plants. I am the one that is envious of all your beauties. When they wake up in the spring they will start growing and produce many gorgeous flowers in the summer.

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

Congratulations on the GH BF bloom! It sure looks pretty!

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Buterfly is my favorite, maybe because I don't have too many really nice pink ones. I have lots of nice pink cuttings growing tho'. Nice present Frannie.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Sounds like your cuttings are really doing great Gloria. I am going to see if I can find that thread that shows how to build PVC shelving for seedlings. Mine are getting too cold and dark. We are having too much rain so no light at the window sills for days on end.

Gee Frannie, your BF is a beauty!! How did you get such a dark one esp in winter. I am going to be so frustrated if mine don't get darker this summer.

Coal Center, PA(Zone 6a)

I love this one, Frannie (o:
Congrats on your late bloom!

Butterfly is one of my very favourites.
Just so feminine ...lol

Gloria, mine was from you alot of moons ago.
Today very nice tree that blooms many at once when a flush.
Thank you for it (o:

Frannie, you will do nothing but enjoy Butterfly.
Always beautiful, but even better as the plant matures.
Always a joy to see bloom (o:

Yay!! Frannie, I'm glad you finally got to see this one. She is a beauty. Certainly one of my favorites and that fragrance is so nice. Reminds me of baby powder.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

It's beautiful, frannie. Glad you got to see it bloom.

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

Wow Frannie! That color is really intense. Very pretty :)

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Way to go Frannie. I had a couple blooms on mine this summer for the first time, even though it got ripped during a storm it was still very pretty and smelled so good.

Jones Creek, TX(Zone 9a)

Oh Frannie, such a pretty flower and a deep pink....I'm just gonna have to come visit one day......very pretty....

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Dee, I would love for you to come and visit sometime. Maybe in the spring and hopefully, I will have cuttings for you.

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

So pretty! I love her too. Remember the seedling I posted on ABADS, I think this must be a parent to it. The shape of the bloom and the smaller stature of the plant lead me to believe so anyway. Frannie I am so happy for you! So how many times a day do you go out to look at her? You will just love this one. I love the color!

city?? lol sticks, AR(Zone 7a)

ohhh how pretty---gives me something to look forward to this spring!!!!! I was blessed with so many cuttings late this summer-----------and I cant wait to see finally have a BF bloom of my own.--untill then---keep those pics coming? cheryl

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Ok Cheryl, You asked for it.. LOL.. Yes Tracy, I have walked many miles to look at it today.. (House-->Greenhouse-->House-->Greenhouse, so on and so on...) Here is a night picture of the 2nd day.

Look at all that pollen. I am enjoying my very first Butterfly Bloom and have been taking many pictures so I haven't wanted to pull the anthers out and save the pollen. We lost a bud yesterday but we have 2 remaining that I will get pollen from. It has the most fresh and clean scent almost identical to Playdough, :-).

Frannie, that is a great picture. I just love this plant and the gorgeous blooms she provides. She is nice and dark for you at this time of the year.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

WOW Frannie, what a picture. I am drooling here. I want pink!!! I took a walk around my yard, I have a sickly looking bloom here or there but it is so wet right now they all look bad!

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

Oh wow! Such a welcome sight that is!

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Well that was certainly a nice christmas surprise. Congrats.

N.C. Mts., NC(Zone 6b)

Wow, love that pink.

Murrells Inlet, SC(Zone 8a)

Beautiful flower Frannie. I'm jealous because all I have to look at right now is just a bunch of cuttings.

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Don't be too jealous . . this is the one and only bloom that I have. I am really enjoying it though because I am in awe of Butterfly's beauty as all of you can tell.

I have some seedlings coming up that I am also excited about and I have more special seeds that I received from a dear friend that I need to plant tomorrow. I also have some cuttings that are the very difficult to root ones and when I checked them a couple days ago, they had many roots. I was thrilled and I just hope nothing happens to them and that they survive until spring.

Baytown, TX(Zone 9b)

Took my breath away...Wow!!

Whitewater, WI

Just had to comment, Frannie

Deep South Coastal, TX(Zone 10a)

Wasn't that one still blooming when I was at your house Frannie? So pretty, I can't wait to have year round blooming brugs!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Butterfly is one of my favorites. I think I'm going to have about four or five of them this year in different parts of the yard.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

The good thing about having no memory is I can be constantly thrilled anew with pictures I have seen before!

Gee Frannie, this is a beauty!

Orange Park, FL(Zone 8b)

So pretty frannie! Mine is loaded with buds again

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

Frannie, beautiful!!!!!! Butterfly is always a show stopper. It never fails to stop me in my tracks when I pass by one blooming. Nice-delightful winter surprise for you.

Brown City, MI(Zone 5a)

This is one that is going to the top of my "Most Wanted" List, It's beautiful.

Moose Jaw, SK(Zone 3b)

Thank you for bringing up this pic again steel_datura...I purchased my Butterfly rather late in the summer and am hoping I will get the color that BrugNanny's did.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Don't cha just love butterfly?

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

My hard drive crashed and just got my computer back today. I sure have missed DG's. Thanks SD for bringing this one back up. This was the first time that my Butterfly bloomed and I sure was not disappointed.

Lilypon, I bet yours will have lots of color also. It was Dec. when mine bloomed and I think it will probably be darker in color in the warm weather.

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Last year was my first flower of Butterfly .... it was so pretty.
That is beautiful Frannie.
