Before putting those collected pine cones up

I collected pine cones for my decorations,noticed a bug in the bag-transferred the cones to ziplock bag and put in microwave (they were damp) until the bagged puffed up and then did this several more times-lots of dead bugs (had a cup with water,re: instructions on cooking without moisture)-sitting along side the bag. Now I will be able to use in the house.
