It amazes me how many beautiful native Texas woodies there are that have received little attention in the horticultural trade. Here are some of the best.
Reverchon Hawthorn - beautiful flowers, fruit, and habit

Mexican plum - fragrant flowers, edible fruit, beautiful habit, fall color, and exfoliating bark

Mexican Olive - tender(8b), but beautiful flowers and edible fruit (somewhat)

Texas even has its own Styrax, Styrax texana, that is endangered. Anyways, thought some folks might be interested.
