Prayers for Granddaughter

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

This miracle never ends. Reagon and her mother went home from the hospital late yesterday evening with instructions to keep her still and quiet over the weekend. Of course, they were both exhausted and Reagon went to sleep in the car driving the 30 miles to their house. She woke up this morning full of vim and vigor. Becki said at first she just wanted to be carried because her leg was sore, but she soon recovered and has been laughing and playing and running from room to room all morning. They've decided to take the kids to a movie and then to see Christmas lights this evening, in order to at least keep her seated and fairly still.

Becki and Dennis (her husband) both send their love and thanks for all your prayers. They are so thankful to so many people that offered up prayers for Reagon and for the awesome cardiologist that did the surgery, but most of all to our awesome God that was the real healer.

Such good news, glad everything turned out so well. Reagan must have a "Guardian Angel".

Hope everyone has a blessed Christmas.

Thank you, Hibiscus. The cardiologist said the same thing about the Guardian Angel.

Thanks Brinda. This is the 3rd time this little girl has had a life threatening situation since she was born, and every time she bounces back. I know that God is watching over her and laying his healing hands on her every time.

Social Circle, GA(Zone 8a)

Now that she is OK, are there any inquiries into how this happened? My gosh. That is hard to imagine happening at all, much less to a little girl. I mean, if it's not anyone's fault, the catheter design, or something should not be used again! ?

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

My daughter is taking Reagon to the pediatric pulmonoligist today to check her lung function and she was going to ask her about it. The cardiologist said she had never heard of it happening before.

Brundidge, AL(Zone 8b)

I am still keeping Reagan in my daily parayers hope all is well and stays that way.

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

Becki just called and said the pulmonoligist could find absolutely nothing wrong, but said Reagon's hematoligist had called her office and wanted Becki to come by his office, so that he could check her heart. He said that he was absolutely amazed that she checked out as if nothing had ever happened. He said that it was amazing because, even though the catheter didn't seem that big, we had to realize that her little heart was only the size of her fist, and if it had traveled into another vessel or chamber, who knows what could have happened. They removed the catheter, but the cardiologist left the port-a-cath in place. In 3 wks. they are going to put in a new port-a-cath, because the doctor feels like the present one was defective and that is why the catheter broke away. He said that usually if the catheter came loose it was from the other end where the clamp held it in place.
