Who hybridized what?

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

I was just sittin here thinkin to myself... I wonder who hybridized "this" brug.
Is it possible that anyone who has hybridized a brug, could post, and tell me/everyone the names of their brugs?
I know if I search, I could find each one, but I was thinkin (again) how nice it would be to have it in one spot. (This isnt already somewhere is it??) I didnt see it on the Brug Database, but that doesnt mean anything either, could be right there in front of my face.

I'll go with it....I've only had two. I'm not that far along with hybridizing. Have lots that may make a new one or two next year, so will cross my fingers on that.

2001....Tragedy 2001. Named this because of the 9-11 tragedy. Jean Pasko X Shirley's Peach
2003.....ForeverMorr. Rosamond X Butterfly

Post pics with your claims to fame!!

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

Kell... dont you have some??

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Yeah, Kel. Let's see something, we are starving here.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

LOL. I was just telling Monika today she should post some of her pretty pics to lift our winter time spirits. Everyone is sick it seems. Including me!

I grew some seeds out this year but none were my seeds. So I have none. However, I sure hope I have some next summer of my own that are worth showing.

We should get Susie to show us hers. She had a great year!!

Hey, Bruggie,
I'd like to have some cuttings of the brugs you hybridized. Any chance?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I'm sorry. I no longer have Tragedy, but others do. ForeverMorr won't be ready to share until next fall. Here is a picture of ForeverMorr. Tragedy is white.

When you say your growing out....what does that mean? And how long does it take to flower from seeds? Is it a long time and thats why folks mostly do cuttings? Or is it cause your seeds may not produce true?
Thanks for any info.
Dee

Just love your ForeverMorr Brugie. It has all the characteristics I love. Dark pink, girlie girl and she wears her hat low!! Could look at her all day long!!

Willowwasp, cuttings are the only way to get the same brug, except for the few that self pollinate. Seeds never come exactly true in the rest. It usually takes a long season from seed to flower if you start it early enough. Lots of us get caught just weeks away from flower when the frost first hit this year!! Or if you are brug momma Tracey it takes a few months!!

This year all of my seedlings but two flowered before they met their demise. Out of about forty or so seedlings, I only kept cuttings from about 4 of them to grow again next year so I can see them bloom during the heat of the summer. They may all end up being tossed, depending on what they do next year. I have seeds started for next summer bloom, hopefully.

Kell, I hope you get to feeling better. It seems the flu bugs are making the rounds and there are so many different kinds of them this year. Hang in there.

How about this one? Does it help to brighten up your days?
Soon, you all will be tired of seeing all these Pinks LOL!
I have many color slides. Pictures, no one has seen yet.
I plan to scan the best of them and then I am able to keep you busy looking at them until next spring!

Rooty, a good scanner with a included color slide scan unit is needed. Mine is a good one but not as good as it should be. I will give it a try to have some of my color slides dgitalized at the photo shop.

thanks Kell! I appreciate it. Thanks for sharing yours! Whats her name? Is that big yella?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Oh no, this is a new hybrid, as of yet unnamed. Due to its being decapitated twice, I ony got 1 bloom at the base of the first Y. And I was so thankful for that 1 bloom. Poor thing has been so mangled. It was a huge tree. I am waiting till next year to see how it does. It has great genes for pollen donoring.! LOL

Monika, another really beautiful brug. Never get tired of looking at them.

Kell such beautiful Poinsetta pictures. I bought a bright red one a couple of days ago to take to the Senior Center for Christmas. Tomorrow I plan to go look again at Safeway's selection. She told me some new ones were coming in today. No large nurseries around here. Donna
