Ok.I'm sure one of you experts will know what it is .
.......This is the best pic I could get.
.......This is the only one I have ever seen,It is like a ladybug....maybe slightly larger.....body is Shiney Black With 1 large and one small bright red spot on each wing.....and there are vivid white markings on the head also.
.....As a rule I leave ladybugs alone (except for clusters in the corner on a warm fall day) Ü
Thanks,
§
CLOSED: Strange BUG
Ladybugs and related beetles usually eat the aphids and caterpillars... I wish I would have some around here too
Do a Google Images search for lady beetles and you'll see many different forms, including yours. :-)
scooterbug, I found a couple of sites that indicated that ladybugs are sometimes black with red spots! Also, found the attached site that shows another kind of beetle that is black with red spots. http://www.nysaes.cornell.edu/ent/biocontrol/predators/chilocorus.html
It looks like it might be the black form of the two-spot ladybird. http://www.kendall-bioresearch.co.uk/beetle3.htm
