The charms of Butterfly!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

My Butterfly is really blooming now after having very few blooms as it was growing all summer. I have decided I really like it! LOL I now can't decide which is my favorite pink!

I love the color of Butterfly. She has great shape and nice tendrils and calyx. For a single, it would be hard to beat her. You take great pictures Kell.

This is such a prety brug, my favorite.

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

I love this brug, kell. it's beautiful.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

The pictures are beautiful and so is the flower. Kell, do you have your plants still outside?

Mesilla Park, NM

Kell, that is really beautiful, makes me very anxious for all of my new cuttings to grow up. Especially seeing these photos..

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

She is soft & graceful with her long tendrils, just like a Butterfly. Beautiful Brug!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Thanks all. I didn't make her though! Wish I did. I am thinking now that these are the first generation of fancy pinks that are in the US (not meaning made in the US). We have a ways to go!

Gee Monika, yes they all are still out and in the ground or in pots. I have moved none. They are all so happy looking up to the dropped buds happened. They are covered in blooms and I even still have some annuals flowering like impatiens and petunias. Look at my bougainvillea still in full bloom.

California...here I come! Thanks for sharing. You are so lucky!

Tonasket, WA(Zone 5a)

Kell, such beautiful brugs and photos. Donna

Denver, CO(Zone 5b)

Ok Kell! Time you rent a plane, and get an arial view for all of us! What a beautiful yard!!! (no excuses! Clean it up, and hop that plane)

Livermore, CA(Zone 9a)

Very pretty, I guess this will have to be another I will
have to have.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

I love bougies, but our season is just too short. What are your night time temps now Kell? We are supposed to be in the low forties for the next 5 days at least. Sure wish I had a bunch of blooms to look at.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Patricia, get the darker bougs, they are much more frost tolerant. The light ones I understand do not have a chance. I have had the one in the picture for years and years. It is huge. I planted it in a little piece of empty space and forgot about it. I also planted a Pittosporum-crassifolium. They grew together intertwined over the years, so in the summer I have a huge purple spot and in the winter the green leaves of the Pittosporum-crassifolium cover the dormant boug limbs. I was an inadvertent genius in that plan!!

Brugie, it is turning colder. But we still have had some days in the 70s. It only rains here in the winter so we are starting our rainy season. Our forecast, it sounds like yours Brugie.
Mon 63° | 42° Partly Cloudy
Tue 65° | 48° Partly Cloudy
Wed 63° | 44° Partly Cloudy
Thu 59° | 43° Chance of Rain
Fri 58° | 42° Chance of Rain

Lots of my annuals have stopped flowering but I still have some going. This is a verbena that I took today. It has flowered nonstop since June.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Beautiful verbena. I do like them for splashes of color. Yep, your forecast is very similar to ours this week. I hope to get a lot more work done in the yard. At least get all the sticks picked up and some leaves chopped.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

We should switch kell so you could take a rest here during our winter. I would bring my plants with me to let them have a vacation too! How about it?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Sounds like a plan as long as you leave one of each brug you bring when you go home. And I know you would take great care of my kitties. I have a featherless bird also that needs love and so much attention. You can teach him German!

Can you imagine the brugs you could create in a brug friendly environment? It is almost your duty to the brug world to move!

I am a novice and going through DG's found this forum about brugs and became addicted. Do you grow them from seeds? If you do, where can I get them from?
thank you
Anna UK

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Adorable kittie, tiny dark "goatie" under her lip?

There's a challenge for you Kell, how do you send anything to United Kingdom?

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

LOL! Then I would have to start all over again! I would teach your bird German and your kitties will love it here, when I take them with me LOL!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Kell, you need to show us a picture of your featherless bird. I thought that poor thing would have grown new feathers by now. Do you have a bird sweater for him?

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Yep butterfly is one beautiful brug. She grows quickly and blooms, and blooms, and blooms

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I hate to tell you this Monika, where ever my cats go, so do I!! Think you can teach me German, too? LOL

Ok, Brugie I will take one of Baby if you all promise not to laugh! Only a mother could love him, and I do! LOL

Anna, I know there are places in England that sell brugs. I just can't think of the names now. Go to google and put in brugmansia and do a search. And if you can get your hands on some German brugs, go for it!!

Here is a picture I just took of my Maxey Cat, the brother of Molly Mouse from above. He never lets me take his picture but as I was coming in from taking pics of my newest seedling I saw him on top of my porch. And of course he immediately got up and left.

Its kittyland, your cats live in! They all look very healthy and happy.
I would love to teach you to speak German and you could teach me ow to speak a better english. We probably would have a lot of fun together LOL!

Kurpark Bad Salzschlirf

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Is this my first German lesson Monika? Kurpark Bad Salzschlirf

If I can say it 3 times fast do I pass?? LOL That is an orange brug isn't it?

Please show us a picture of you little Minka, Monika.

and here she is pictured a few days ago, thinking about what she could do next.....
She is Franks darling and she loves him also. When he goes outside, she runs from one window to the other, searching for him.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Yes, you will pass LOL! KBS changes colors from cream to yellow nd apricot. Its a heavy bloomer.

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

It's Kittyland here too. It's funny how they think you plant the gardens just for their enjoyment. Mr. BB was a stray that was eating out of our trash. Now he thinks he's the boss around here.

Thumbnail by poppysue
Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

LOL poppysue! We have three bosses! But we like to be bossed around, dont we LOL!

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Isn't it amazing how these stray animals can move in and just become "THE BOSS". LOL

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Great pictures of your cats/kittens everyone. I'm still wishing here and hoping that one day Jim won't mind the surprise I'll bring home.

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Go for it Shirley, surprise Jim with an early Christmas present.

These are all beautiful "babies". I truly love cats. They know what they want and know how to get it.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Monika, Minka is beautiful little lady. She looks like she has black eyeliner on and I love her 1 white leg and one black one. Our sweetest cat we ever had was a black and white. His name was Doberman. I still think of him.

Mr. BB is such a fluff! LOL. He looks all boy yet so huggable. He looks so much like my Nick. I just love that picture. Did you take that with your cool pix?

Brugie, are you going to become a cat person? I thought you were going to get a puppy.

Gloria, show us your cats!!

Coal Center, PA(Zone 6a)

Butterfly is easily one of my very favourite brugmansias.
Very nice photos, Kell.
Alice
