I have waited 2 years for this to bloom!!!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

I almost tossed this several times this summer because it gets mottled leaves. But I had never seen it bloom so I couldn't make myself without any other symptoms. Yesterday I was looking at this plant thru my bedroom window and I saw a bud almost open. It has just 1 bud! I ran outside! LOL I do not now how I missed the bud all this time but boy, does that make it easier to wait when it is only for 1 day!

good things come to those who wait----- is it too late to try to do some crosses with another sang pollen? Im extra ignorant about sangs---but I dont seem to see many pics here on them. Hope you can play around with that bloom. cheryl

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

That is too cool Kell!

I just chopped my sang back, hopeing to force new growth(which I'm starting to see)
It bloomed last winter in the GH,but it has some mottling,so I have it isolated upstairs.........

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

That is so pretty, Kell. Wish I could grow this type here, but from everything I've read, they won't grow in our South Texas heat.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Thanks all. I pollinated it with my orange sang and I used its yellow pollen on my arborea. I wish I had a Mobisu Monika! LOL

CC, I have a sang cutting from a sang that has had no mottling for as long as I have had it. Want it?

Homestead, FL(Zone 10b)

It's beautiful Kell. Congratulations for having the patience to wait for it. :-)

city?? lol sticks, AR(Zone 7a)

do sangs have long extra skinny buds that stick out at an angle sorta almost sideways? I have a non named cutting from last year that looks sorta like that about to bloom?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Wow Plays, I hope you will get pictures. Can't wait to see what you have.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

This one would have been the ideal pollinator! The bright yellow with the peach/rose of Mobisu might have been THE match, since Mobisu grows very fast and is heat tolerant

A very pretty Kell. I love yellow.

I think I need a Mobisu, LOL.. Is this one in the states?

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

I just love it Monika. Does the foliage have a grey hue to it? I think the foliage is just as pretty as the flowers.

Herbstein, Germany(Zone 5a)

The foliage is green. It is the lights, which reflects from the foliage. The foliage is very decorative.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

That is gorgeous Monika. Oh to dream!

Plays, I doubt it is a sang. I wonder if it is an arborea. That has skinny pointed buds. Are the leaves velvet like?

Kannapolis, NC(Zone 7b)

Monika, Mobisu is beautiful.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

How about this one Kell?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Liz, that is just one beautiful flower.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

It never fails to amaze me every time I see your place Liz, that your plants live better than I do! I want to come back as your most special brug! What a life I would have!
But no pruning allowed! Ouch!

That is a beauty. Is it pinky orange? A sang?

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

It's fuzzy sang x Roter Vulcan, the first one here that had the deep red all the way up. It will spend the winter outside.
lol, my plants live better than I do too. It's warmer in the gh than the house.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

It looks so dark. A true beauty. It looks prettier than red though.
