cucumber seeds question

Hi friends
I use to collect seeds from cucumbers but this year are difficult because its only a few seeds that I can use its only a couple in some fruits that are matured,WHY is the question? any ideas?

Without more info about growing conditions I would suspect the unusuall summer temperatures throughout Europe affected them. Cucumbers are very sensitive to heat, and both flower- and fruit-set suffers.

As a secondary consequence, insect activity is also lower during high heat. So there may have been a pollination problem as well.
