How old are your seedpods? Pods take anywhere from 3 to 9 months to mature. You'll know that they are ripe when the peduncle (stem of the bloom/pod)changes color to yellow. The end of the pod will soften as well.
Gee, you don't look like a werewolf. lol.
Welcome to Daves.

Dayton, OH(Zone 5a)

What beautiful brugs you have there, Werewolf! Congratulations :) I've the same questions as you so I can't really help, but welcome to DGs :)

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Nice blooms Werewolf. Welcome to Daves. Just give those pods enough time and you will have seeds running out your ears. Did you do the pollinating yourself or was it done by critters?

heber springs, AR(Zone 7b)

to answer u question first burgie, i know from nothing about polinating. lol. the critters did it for me. i also have a pretty white one too. ty lizz for the compliment. but sometimes i do feel a little like a wolf. i really enjoy DG. i need help on when to fertilise what to use(besides fish poo) and how often. do u fertilise in the winter too. i have a room just for my brugs. i hope they make it. i really want a red one. can anyone help me. answer here or email me at jhenard@cox-internet.com tyvm. jim

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Jim
I fertilized my brugs faithfully this spring and early summer, twice a week with a good fertilizer like Miracle Grow, Peters, etc. Mine happened to be a 20-20-20 when I started fertilizing and then I changed to a 15-5-15. They did well, However, when it go so blasted hot that I couldn't stand it, the fertilizing stopped except for a couple of times a month. They still did just fine. I fertilize my cuttings in small containers about once a month with half strength fertilizer. When Feb. rolls around I'll do more fertilizing. I don't want them to grow much during the winter since I'm growing them in the house. It's a jungle in here without making it worse. Good luck with your brugs. I am not sure you want to mess with a red sang. It is too hot here for one and I don't hear of others having luck with them in warm climates. There are some dark pinks and deep coral colors out there in the more heat tolerant varieties. Butterfly is a good one.

thanks for the info brugie.

Yukon, OK(Zone 7b)

Stop by and pick me up on the way Brugie! LOL Bags are packed & sitting by the door!!!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

All my bags are packed, I'm ready to go,
I'm standing here outside your door,
I hate to wake you up to say goodbye.
But the dawn is breaking, it's early morn,
The taxi's waiting, he's blowing his horn,

I'm leaving on a jet plane, don't know when I'll be back again.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

That is even better Kell. I'm sure Tom won't mind if we visit your brug patch. LOL!!

Beverly Hills, CA(Zone 10a)

Kell, it's driving me me crazy... I know the melody but who sang that song? Alzheimers creeping up again.
Bambi

Everson, WA(Zone 8a)

Peter, Paul and Mary. I think John Denver wrote it??

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

John Denver wrote it and Peter, Paul and Mary made it a hit.

I hate that when a song plays over and over again in your mind. I have that happen to me all the time. Today I kept mind singing the second stanza of this one:

Just what makes that little ole ant
Think he'll move that rubber tree plant?
Anyone knows an ant can't
Move a rubber tree plant

But he's got hi-i-igh hopes, he's got hi-i-igh hopes
He's got high apple pi-i-ie-in-the-sk-y-y hopes
So, any time you're gettin' low, 'stead of lettin' go, just remember that ant
Oops, there goes another rubber tree plant

When troubles call and your back's to the wall
There a lot to be learned that wall could fall

Once there was a silly old ram
Thought he'd punch a hole in a dam
No one could make that ram scram
He kept buttin' that dam

'Cause he had hi-i-igh hopes, he had hi-i-igh hopes
He had high apple pi-i-ie-in-the-sk-y-y hopes
So, any time your feelin' bad, 'stead of feelin' sad, just remember that ram
Oops, there goes a billion-kilowatt dam
