First Hummingbird Sighting!

Locust Grove, GA(Zone 7b)

Last week, on my morning off from work, I heard a loud horn. Thinking it was in my driveway I went to the door and looked out. No, there was no-one there, but I saw the first hummingbird of the season. It was the female ruby throated. It shocked me because it was July of last year before I saw my first one last year. Watching these amazing little creatures is one of my favorite pass-times. I have a feeder right outside of my screen-in deck...I can sit in the morning with my coffee and go undetected. They make the softest little chirping sound and seem to be as happy as can be...I love it!!!

aaaaaaaah. How wonderful it is to be able to see that first of anything expecially a hummingbird. Way to go Susan28X

LOL These little darlings do not scare very easily! They will dive bomb you in the garden if they think you are in THEIR space! They just do not seem to know or care how little they are!
