Mystery vine seed for SASE

Needville, TX(Zone 9a)

I just got home from work and am responding to this post first before I answer individual emails, so please bear with me....

Donna - Got your mail....

KillerChihuahua - LOL...all I can say is that (location is south Texas remember) it comes back every year from the wood if no pruning is done...Yes, I agree the IDing of this pretty vine IS complicated because there are so many out there - but I think we all agree upon that it is a "Strophostyles"...lol.

art_n_garden - Got your mail....

Bonnie - YW...and the method I used for germination is the same as would be for a sweetpea:
1. Nick seed and soak overnight.
2. Sow in potting soil depth of seed.
*** Germination should occur in about a week.
3. Plant when danger of frost is over.

Hope this helps....(Ü)

LOL, well Pam, this time when I grow YOUR seeds, I am going to bring it into the garage late fall so I know I don't loose them tee hee

It's not so bad, but I am so used to it, I don't think I would know how to act if I lived in say Georgia or North Carolina again, Georgia was way too hot, NC was a delight but family was here, so back I came LOL

Needville, TX(Zone 9a)

San Jose, CA(Zone 9b)

Hi Pam,
That's a very pretty vine you have, whatever it is! If you have seeds still available, I would love to trade or SASE. It's sounds like just what I need to cover a bare fence.
Thanks,
Angela

Needville, TX(Zone 9a)

Angela - email me your trade list please.

Oostburg, WI(Zone 5b)

thanks very much, Pam. My fuzzy-wuzzy-weed-seed- err..fuzzybean seed arrived yesterday! I can see them already, going up the west side of the house! Thanks!

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Hey Pam. I knicked the seeds and put them in water then didn't have time to start them. I changed the water everyday and within the week they sprouted. I potted them up and just barely covered them with soil and have them under the light. The popped up over night. Yea this batch made it. Everyone might want to try this way with the clitoria vine seeds since they are kind of hard to germinate too.

Spokane, WA(Zone 5b)

That is a very pretty vine but by the looks of it, it looks far too tropical for me to be able to grow here in zone 5b. If I'm wrong, let me know if you have any seeds left - I'd love it if I could grow it here! :)

Carlisle, PA(Zone 6b)

Hi Pam, I received the fuzzy bean today. Did I ever send you that white flowered Clitoria you wanted? Let me know & thanks.

dobie, ON(Zone 3a)

Hi Pam,
Do you have any left and what are you looking for.
lmn
Thanks bunches Marilyn

Guilford, CT(Zone 7a)

Very pretty vine!
I would also love a couple seeds to try in Connecticut... if you have any left. I have some seeds for trade, & lots of rootings if you would like to wait for warmer shipping weather...Let me know!

Kooger - Glad you got them and happy growing!...(Ü)

Hey there Donna - great technique you have there - congratulations on the germination!...(Ü)

Karrie20x - Tis vine is definately more hardy than a sweetpea so you might just give it a try - it is a fast climber and started blooming in about a month for me...(Ü)

Judy - glad you got the seeds!...no, I haven't gotten yours yet but still waiting - I will email you if they are still not here by the weekend...(Ü)

Marilyn - I still have some left....I esp. like plants that attract butterflies and hummers...(Ü)

JRush - I still have some left...(Ü)
