I don't usually fall for hoaxes - I've gotten very good at avoiding them, but I really went down the primrose path this morning and I want to apologize to EVERYONE for being such a dope. Please, if I upset you with my email or posting, I am VERY SORRY. And if you have cobbled up your computer because of me, I am speechless with contrition.

Kathleen... I agree with marclay. I had foewarded your email about the so called virus before I read your post... and so had to send out the correct info and apologize. Usually, I don't fwd anything I haven't checked out, and this was an exception... sorry for me, too!

Right after I got my first computer I recieved a copy of Macafee virus scan. I ran it and it said I had a virus. I spent hours clearing everything from my hard drive and re installing. When I was finished I scanned again and it said it was still there. I panicked and Called my Brother long distance. He gave me the link to check out hoaxes. The "virus" I had was at the top of their list. Not as a hoax but as a common problem with the virus scan reading certain windows files wrong! Now I always check before I panic!

It seems funny now but It sure wasn't funny then!

Every now and then it is good that a forum like this is available to warn folks that are new to computers and remind the rest of us to these Hoax viruses. So in a way you did a service with your warning!
