My favortie brug! And I have 3 alley trees of it now and 3 more 6 ft suckers waiting to be on their own. And you all know by now which one it is!
I am in heaven!
Kell, your gardens are gorgeous!!
Hey, I see orange in that pic!
LOL Cala, orange shakes up all the pink! That is my little courtyard, all of those are in pots.
Your yard is beautiful. If it's okay I'm going to move to your courtyard for the winter! I promise I won't take up much room.
I'm coming too!!!
Just beautiful, sure is like Heaven, when you stick your nose in and get the smell.
Looking at that pic I really need a new camera. I am so confused. I thought I had decided on a brand then I went over to the camera forum and started reading threads and I am now back at square one. I am driving me nuts.
Anyone here have the Nikon Coolpix 4500 or better?
Boy, Kell, if that is an alley tree, and that is an alley, then it must be an alley in Heaven. Your courtyard is just beautiful. What tree is that covered in lavender flowers? Looks beautiful. Also, to show my brug ignorance, just what is an alley tree?
I'm going to show my ignorance again. Which brug is that? It is delicious. Pink is my favorite color in just about everything.
Beautiful, beautiful, Kell.
that is absolutely beautiful.
Minniegrannie, no one is ignorant here! We all are in a process of becoming ....... that is what I tell myself anyway! LOL
It is a Solanum rantonnetii Royal Robe. It is great for a big splash of color all summer. I have them all over. I am a sucker for big and color!
There was a brug grower who used to post here alot who grew beautiful brug standards. She called them alley trees. They are grown with a single stalk instead of a huge bush type plant.
It is a Rosamond. It is so perfect in everyway though it could be darker. I just hope it is cold hardy! I will leave one of mine out this winter to see.
Here is my newest alley tree of Rosamond peeking out between the other 2 brugs. It just put out 4 blooms. Not bad for growing as a sucker in less than 2 months and now stands alone at over 7 feet and is now putting out its own sucker.
edited for a brug can't pee! LOL

Kell, I don't think I like you anymore! Wanna trade houses? You leave me your plants and I'll leave you mine. Want the kids too?? I answered the camera question on Happenstances brug post. :)
How are you doing today, Badseed? I'm with you - I want those brugs.
Kell, I'm so happy to hear it is Rosamond, because that is one of the ones that I have. Yippee! I just don't know how you get so many blooms on your brugs though. I've got to know your secret. LOL Also, all the Solanum Royal Robes that I've seen had just a few sparse dark purple blooms. Yours is gorgeous.
Kell, what a gorgeous garden!!! How long did it take for your Rosamond to grow to 7 feet?
Ok Kell,
You're driving me absolutely NUTS!!! Heck...I'd be happy just to be your next-door neighbor! I've just received a few brug cuttings and have been so excited to get them started for blooms next year. Now I am really EXCITED! This obsession never ends, does it???
Ok, I have to know, in the first pic on this thread, what are the huge orange blooms? Iochroma? I can't get the pic large enough to tell.
Brinda :)
Gosh Kell, that first picture is a stunner. How in the world do you get everything watered? Can you walk through there? I don't see any grass. Did you leave the front yard for Tom to mow? Beautiful. I'd think I had died and gone to heaven to have flowers that pretty. It is so colorful. You should be proud. Very proud!!
Beautiful! I'm in line for cuttings!
I just can't stand to see those beautiful Brugs of all colors what kind of climate do they need can I grow them here in Mountains of Virginia ?.. I have some different climbing vines I brought seeds back from Florida the vine looks like the one on the home page forum that dave puts onI will take pictures if it ever blooms ! can someone bring me seed or starters from the Brugmansia janice.. dufus
Gosh I meant to compliment on your Leos there Kell but I was too busy not liking you and trying to take your little brug heaven. giggle
Outstanding little courtyard you have there Kell. I think I see a spot left yet for me to plant myself. Absolutely stunning.
How I'd love to have some of these beauties. Know nothing about them. Would they grow in zone 6? This is high desert in Idaho.
Hey Gloria since kell didn't say no I think we have a place to winter over at, what do you thing?
Say when, I'm ready.... Deb we already used the available spot. But maybe we can scoot over and make room for you too.
I didn't know that Deb wanted to come too! Okay- I'll share.
Me too.......mom always said "to share".
Gorgeous photo! There's so much going on there! I love all the color.
How come my Lion's ear never looks like that?
kell, that is a heaven to die for! I just knew you'd have wonderful gardens, and now this courtyard, and alley trees, Oh My!
Remember when I asked for a photo pan of your yard not long ago? Please do it for us. Remember that most of us have scorched dying gardens now, not your lush paradise :)
please, please, please?
Yes, yes, yes, yes, Kell, please take more pictures of your yard. You must live in California. My son lives in LA and he keeps telling us to come visit, because I would love the flowers.
Kell your garden is beautiful! Dufus you would have to bring them in for the winter like most of us do. You are coming to the Ky Roundup I can bring you some rooted cuttings if you really want some. Why not start another Brug addict. lol
Photos can be so deceiving! LOL
When I said I was in heaven before I was referring to my pink very perfect brug tree! LOL Not my courtyard. Unfortunately, there is much left to be desired in that space!
Since I wrote that in the subject line this song has been going over and over in my mind........ till I am going nuts! So I shall share my song with you so you too can have it singing in your head! LOL
Johnny Angel, Johnny Angel
Johnny Angel, Johnny Angel
You're an angel to me.
Johnny Angel how I love him
How I tingle when he passes by
Everytime he says hello
My heart begins to fly.
Johnny Angel how I want him
He's got something that I can't resist
But he doesn't even know that I exist.
I'm in heaven, I get carried away
I dream of him and me and wonder how it's gonna be
All the fellows call me up for a date
But I sit and wait.
I'd rather concentrate
On Johnny Angel
`Cause I love him
And I pray that someday he'll love me
And together will see how lovely heaven will be.
And together will see how lovely heaven will be.
Awesome Kell. What is the big tall orange flower. I really like that.
Gosh, my Leonitus don't look like that. I have lots of shade. Your yard is unbelievable.
My Leonotis is orange, but those look like big puffballs of orange. Very pretty Kell.
Brugie her leonotis is a perennial form from out west..not seed grown like the ones we have. This one is leonotis leonurus.
Shoot..........I like hers better!! So, we have Leonotis nepetifolia?
Love the song kell, but ... please, please, please?
Show us your imperfections, lol, let us mortals know we're not alone!
Very pretty Kell.
Kell, you certainly have created a wonderful courtyard - I love all those colours!
Kell - stunning! love your garden. I am waiting to plant the seeds that you had sent me before I left the States, I hope that my garden will look as lovely as yours...You'll have to come visit...
