Oooooh, that is simply too beautiful!!
I've not been on too much lately, as my son is getting married next month, and my garden has taken a wee bit of a back seat. The only thing I do is weed and fertilize my 3 brugs. LOL
Having one of these would be an awesome treat!
You have mail, Kell!
orange orange everywhere!
Good morning Kell. You've got mail! :-)
I would love to have 2 cutting that so beautiful great color so wondering does it have scent?
Terrific pictures Kell.
I have none rooted yet, do you know how to root them? I am going to cut off a huge sucker and cut it into 5 inch pieces and stick them in group pots to root. It roots fast.
I just went out and looked at the fertilizer. It is the triple Roz, 16-16-16. Both bags say it is lawn fertilzer. The brugs love it. BUT BEWARE!!! When you use this type of fertilizer, it is easy to burn the plants. So if in pots, use sparingly until you see how much the plants can tolerate. I find in the ground, you can be more liberal but make sure you do not let any fertilizer touch the brug stem for it will burn them if left there.
Kell, you don't have to root mine. Just send pieces and I'll root them. I don't think others expect you to root them. Makes it much easier for you to ship, just as unrooted cuttings. It's up to you, but not a problem for me to unrooted pieces.
You don't have to root mine either.
I was thinking of the newbies Brugie. I hate it when I send something and it dies.
I think your idea of them sending me the stamp and the self addressed label is great.
Last Spring I was new to these Brugs and most all the cuttings I received were not rooted; they seemed to
root very easily. The only thing I had rooted previously
were some geraniums.
No one expects you to go to all that work, kell.
Will get mine in the mail. Arlene, she can send yours with mine and save you postage if you want.
That's fine with me if it is with kell.
I can get mine when I come to Brugie's
Thank you
??? MAYBE ??? YOU NOT SEE MY POST JUST TELL ME HOW MUCH POSTAGE NO NEED TO SEND ROOT, I CAN DO IT MYSELF TO MAKE ROOT MUCH EASIER SO IF NOT HAVE ANY THAT WILL BE FINE NO PROBLEMS AT ALL. =)
Y'ALL HAVE A GREAT DAY! ;)
Well, Kell, it looks as if you need at least 10 of these beauties to be able to send everyone who wants cuttings at least one piece. LOL
Has anyone sent thick stem cuttings with no leaves in a bubble envelope? I wonder if that would work. I understand you have to pay extra for hand stamping but it would so much easier than boxing them.
Sure Red Rose, I saw your post. I haven't answered any yet! I was hoping you would all forget.......LOL! I have no clue how much, it will vary depending where you live, how much I send and how I send it I think.
Kell, if you go to the USPS site and order priority boxes they're free. You'll have to pay for bubble mailers. If you're just sending the one kind of cutting you could get a case of the video boxes to ship them in.
If you can keep the boxes to 1 pound or less it will cost a flat rate of $3.95 per box for priority shipping. Have everyone send you the correct postage amount and an address label. All you'll need to do is tuck the cuttings in the boxes, slap on the labels, and mail them off.
I sent out lots of unrooted cuttings last year. No way could I root them all.
Kell I'll have cuttings to send out of your Big Yella for the folks on my coast. I just LOVE this plant it's bloomed and bloomed since you sent it. All of this from a cutting in a matter of months- three I think. Thanks again.
Kell, I've mailed them in bubble envelopes before. Takes a couple of days longer to arrive, but I was told they were in great shape. Personally, I'd go the Priority route so you don't have to buy the envelopes. My PO has them on hand and I can usually get a case of whatever size I want or order on line. They will give you Priority tape for free too as well as labels, and some stickers.
Yes, I am amazed what USPS will give you for free!!
I certainly would love to be number 11! wink wink, batting eyelashes I'll mail you the stamp and an addy label! LOL
Kell,
An unrooted cutting would be most welcome....I wouldn't expect you to go thru all that work! And, besides, it will afford me the opportunity to stop being afraid of brug cuttings, and just do it! LOL
I can send you postage and self-addressed label, no problemo!
I'd love one too please!
Yup kell, do it the easiest way!
Please count me in(:
Dat you have Big Yella?I must have missed the pics,I'm a hardwood cutting guy.if either of you whack off some cuttings with bark,I would love a chunk, nothing fancy.;0)
Root.
Kristi, if you have any of Big Yella, could I please get some from you? Thanks
Kell, I don't need it rooted either. I'll gladly send you postage and an address label. I need to know where to send it. Ada
kell, my sister-in-law tried rooting 2 ways. She did some in water and some in damp soil. She had the same results with both. But if you send the cuttings, unrooted, early in the week, they will get to people quickly and they can root them.
why don't you have a bruggie-naming contest?
If you send me your snail mail address, I will send postage and a mailing label ASAP.
Kell??
Are you overwhelmed yet? LOL Now I understand why you don't let anyone know where you're from. EVERYONE would be on your doorstep! Keep my in mind for a cutting, please. (On any of your Brugs) I will send postage & a mailing label. Thanks!!! You have a great talent with the camera just the same!
Got you Gloria and Root! Kell sent me a cutting of this early summer along with several others! It was like Christmas.
Hey datdog, I'm on your coast!!! Will you save me a Big Yella too???
Why of course!
Kristi you are so sweet! Are you sure yours is big enough? This one is amazing isn't it? A real survivor. It blooms and blooms and is so hardy and so huge! And it suckers alley trees so fast and so easily!
So what are the rules? If you buy from a nursery an unnamed one, can you name it? Well I call it Big Yella............ lol
I sent out emails this AM!
Have I told you two lately how much I love you????
Is that a song? LOL
YES! You mean that one is too old for you to remember!
Sending my postage today with your seeds. Thanks a bunch!!
I had to bump this one for new members to see. I think this is about the prettiest picture I've seen of an orange brug.
I agree, it warms me up just looking at it!
This is beautiful! Must have at any cost! Please e-mail me for info on postage & addy?Just one little piece & I will root! beggars can't be choosy! LOL!
