Howdy from California

Galt, CA(Zone 9a)

Thank you Herbie43! It doesn't matter to me whether you're the first or last, I'm just glad to hear from you! LOL Belated or not! It's really nice to meet friendly people like you, neighbor!!

Cassopolis, MI(Zone 5a)

I am a little slow here, but a big welcome from Michigan. Try to remember that we Michigan people suffer from Zone envy, but we do try to be nice.

Galt, CA(Zone 9a)

Hi acknapp and llilyfan! Thanks for the warm welcome! Don't feel too bad, it's rained and blown here all through Christmas, and now it's going to freeze tonight! LOL I'm sure it's not as cold as you're two areas, but I'm cold sitting here writing this!! LOL Glad to meet you! Come on Spring!! hehe

Bay City, MI(Zone 6a)

hello from michigan and welcome to the best site around.

are you close to Lodi?

Galt, CA(Zone 9a)

Notmartha:
Hi and thank you for the welcome! Sorry I didn't answer you sooner. I just saw the post now. Yes, I'm about 5 miles from Lodi, in fact that's where I was born!! LOL How do you know about Lodi? That's where I do most of my shopping, since they don't have a Walmart in Galt! LOL Talk to you soon. Janie

Dayton, OH(Zone 5a)

Hey, we have a Lodi in Ohio with a nice outlet mall. That's about all that's there though :)

Galt, CA(Zone 9a)

Hi Morph,
I didn't know there was a Lodi in your direction, I know there's one in Japan, and that's their sister city. I do know some people that live in Dayton. It's probably too big a city for you to know them too!! LOL

Welcome Yardmender from another Iowan. The next best thing to gardening is talking about gardening, and we do a lot of that at Dave's Garden. Have fun and enjoy all your new gardening friends!

Yardmember, you never know here! I've been here many years now and it's smaller than you think after being here. We like it that way :) Smaller, but nice & convenient like a big city! Single people don't like it as much, but it's a great place for families!

Huntington Beach, CA(Zone 10a)

Morph,

I didn't realize that you lived in Dayton. I lived in Huber Heights for 2 years while DH was getting his masters degree at Wright Patt. I was an avid bowler at that time and used to bowl all over the area. In fact, I had my first 700 series at Beavervue Lanes and they even put my name up on the wall. Wonder if it's still there. lol

Donna, isn't it a small world? I haven't been to Beavervue Lanes, but next time we go bowling I'll suggest it and we'll check for your name. That is really cool!!!

Seems like a lot of people come through here with the base located here. Nice people, too, like you & your dh!

Galt, CA(Zone 9a)

Iowaron,
Thank you for the welcome. Everyone is so nice at Dave's. I'm really enjoying everyone, plus learning alot from the forums. I just sit and smile while reading!! LOL

Morph,
I sure didn't realise Dayton was not this huge city! Thank you, cause I'd always pictured it that way. Small is better I think, not so impersonal. Galt has gotten bigger in the last couple years, and it's not the same at all.

Johnston, IA(Zone 5a)

Hi Yardmender,
What's your passion in the garden? Any particular addictions that you'd care to share? :-) Mine are Daylilies, Lilies, Iris, Hosta, and Water Gardening. Yes, there are Societies, both on the local level and National Organizations to help us with our addictions, and we belong to them all.
Oh, and Tomatoes. We love fresh-from-the-garden-vine-ripened-Tomatoes.
