Does anyone know if these trees can be started(propogated) in dirt or vermiculite with rooting hormone

SDoglover1512: Yes, they can. Sterile medium is better, covered w/ a jar or plastic bag. Light but no sun till you see roots. Good luck!

Are you talking about just taking a twig from the tree and starting it? I've only potted up the seeds and that seems to take forever. Susan

I understood you to mean cuttings. They will root. Also you could try air-layering. Search DG for Magnolia, too.
