Look at those long tendrils on her! This has to be the largest flowering brug I've ever seen.
From closed to open in two hours- Pink Beauty
So pretty.
Very pretty Kristi. Bet tomorrow will be even better.
I forgot to add how excited I was to see this bloom! My first year with this plant- thanks to a special gal.
So, what's wrong with Rosamond? That is one beautiful bloom!
nothing Gloria, it is my fav. but they look so close don't you think??
its lovely :)
Absolutely lovely.
Beautiful!!
Yes, they do look alike, but that's nice, both are beauties.
Such beauty! Thanks for sharing it with us. Padre
I think this is why Monika said some time ago that in order to tell which one is which (Pink Beauty and Rosamond) she would have to see them side by side in person.
Brugie, Rosamond is supposed to be bigger. i have sent mine out as pink beauty/rosamond, since mine came from Barbara W as pink beauty. Would love to know how you can tell the dfference.
Datdog and Kell, did you both get those you posted pics of from me? i know i sent one to each of you. hunting for someone who has rosabelle to gauge the size, then finally i'll figure it out. very nice pic datdog, you do so well with your brugs.
Arlene- I did get this one from you. I thought I read on another thread that it was decided that it was pink beauty?
Early spring I purchased a Pink Beauty from Logee's. I'll compare them if my Logee one blooms. So far it's 'Y'd many times, but only TINY buds.
Kristi- i am wishy washy! I still go back and forth on it! i'd apreciate you letting me know when your loggees blooms. Don't want to wear out the pink beauty/rosamond debate, lol! the lady i got this from still calls hers pink beauty. whichever it is, it's a great brug, a keeper for me.
I agree it's a lovely plant. One I won't be without. If you want to try some of the Logee's Pink Beauty I'll have lots of cuttings. The plant is 9 feet tall. Thanks again for this one.
Holy Smokes!!!!!!!
Root- remember I was talking about that fall package? Never know what you might find in there *grin*!
WOW! That one is PRETTY!!! Love it.
Really pretty Kristi! Has your weather been hot there?
What ARE you feeding those things? Now that is BIG!
BE STILL MY HEART!!!!!!!!!!!
Gosh, that is so pretty. I see long sleeves...is it cooling down out east?
OHHHH LAAA LAAA
I think i like the pink ones the best so far...you guys are really making me crazy here...All i can say is oh yeah i want one of those and one of those and oh my look at this one...my hubby does not even know what has hit him...How do i break the news to him that he is now a brug widow.....ack!
Datdog, when you do cuttings, I'd love to have one. This is beautiful.
Kristi, what a beautiful bloom and oh so big. Doesn't Rosamond have a much larger bloom than Pink Beauty? It seems I remember reading that.
your color is so much better than mine! What is your PH Kristi? do you know? Any ideas on why you are getting such great deep pinks? All I have to say is Wahhhhhhhhhhh who!!
What kind of fertilizer do you use?
Poppy our weather has been in the high 80's a few weeks in the 90's. Shirley, it's cold for me seeing as I'm allergic to cold weather. The temp is in the 60's right now. BRRRRRR I'll never survive winter. LOL
Not feeding them anything special Gloria. This one is planted in a small pot and I tossed some osmocote in the pot in the begining of summer. I do fertilize from time to time with some stuff I got on sale last season. Bloom booster- or something like that. I'll go out and look at the name in a bit. I do however add my excess seaweed from my fish pond to all the plants. I don't know if it helps. I like to think it does.
Kell, I don't have a clue what the PH is. I don't test for any of that. Too lazy.
BrugNanny I'm not sure about the bloom on Rosamond I've never seen it in person. I do have one (Many thanks to cala) but it most likely will not bloom this season. My fault as the location I choose to plant it in was not a wise one.
What kind of seaweed Kristi? I am willing to do anything for dark dark blooms! LOL
It's called hornworthttp://www.rook.org/earl/bwca/nature/aquatics/ceratophyllum.html A VERY invasive pond plant that is just about in every fresh water pond I've been in. My mom spent hundreds to get it out of her earth bottom pond. It was so thick I sware you could walk on it. This is where I got mine from. I keep mine in check by pulling it out of the pond and putting it around my potted plants. I sware this is why my snowbank is growing so well. What other reason could there be? LOL
Kristi, your blooms are beautiful! So dark.
What a masterpiece! Absolutely exquisite!!
Kristi, i think yours are prettier than mine...
Unbelievable.
Wow that is a beauty.... !!
