Finally, one of my own...

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

This is from a cross I made last summer. Just thought I'd share it with you all. The heat has fried some of the spurs and the cucumber beetles are dinning on it, but it is still kinda pretty.

Stunning Shirley!!Great cross!Bet you will have a long line for cuttings on this one!

San Antonio, TX(Zone 9a)

It's beautiful. Another beautiful pink (my favorite).

Marshfield, MO(Zone 6a)

Lol, there is already a long line of us over at BGI waiting for this one!

Matthews, MO(Zone 6b)

Shirley that is very beautiful! I like it! How is the smell?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Tracey, it is just the normal smell I think. It is so high up on the plant that I can't get my nose into it. Will try to get a good whiff tonight.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

I saw that Mary,Think Brugie will be carring a bare pot to the basement this fall?

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Oh Brugie, you must be thrilled! A special one for sure! I am so happy for you!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Hey guys, I am so excited. We are definitely going to be neck deep in dark pink! I can't stand it!!!

A L'Amour baby right Brugie??? See how well she gives her color to her babies! Dark right to the calyx.... even though it is a short trip. Just how I like them. I need to go to my bruglings now and tell them what they are supposed to be doing!

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

It is a beautiful bloom, so happy for you. You got THAT one right!

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Oh that is pretty!! Is that one of the SC ones? I lost mine from that cross. I really like the pink on this. I think you are being too modest! LOL

city?? lol sticks, AR(Zone 7a)

Good job Shirley--------congrats!!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Chele, I know I will kick myself for being so blonde but what is SC??

Milo, IA(Zone 5a)

Shirley: That is so lovely and pretty in pink. Good going girl. Now if we could get some rain and relief from this heat.

Barnesville, GA(Zone 8a)

Good for you Shirley (~;
Verrry pretty!

Shirley,
Nice!!!

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Strawberry Creme?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

SC= Strawberry Creme
This isn't a L'Amour cross. Wish I had a L'Amour and I'd sure be doing a lot of painting when certain brugs were blooming. This one is Rosamond X Butterfly unless a critter pollinated it before I did.

Thanks Everyone. I did go out in our 94 degree heat to check it. The plant is in full sun and the bloom hasn't wilted a bit.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Isn't Butterfly a L'Amour baby? How about Rosamond? Is there a place to find the parentage easily on these crosses?

I wonder if it is a L'Amour pink or a different shade of dark pink. I hope itis different so we will have more shade to play with! LOL

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

It is darker than Rosamond, but doesn't have the orange in it that L'Amour seems to have in the pictures I've seen. On my monitor it looks exactly like it does outside. Just a nice deep pink. Rosamond is a Rothkirch baby I believe. Not sure about Butterfly.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Yes, L'Amour is an odd pink. Yours looks like a great pink!!! Too great! LOL I wonder if I have any Rosamond X Butterfly bruglings? Gloria, was this the cross you were most intersted in?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Kell, I sent you some seed last fall. I didn't have good luck with it germinating and found that it was full of the gnat larva. I think the other person I sent seed to was Hibiscus and I don't believe she got any to grow. I had 5 seeds that grew and Renee has one of them and it was pretty, but short spurs. One of those I grew had short spurs but good color. I think a critter got to one of the seed pods.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

My L'Amour X Butterfly, just Yed,will keep you a cutting Shirley if you want.

Ewing, KY(Zone 6a)

Shirley that's a pretty one. You did good!

Vancleave, MS(Zone 8b)

Incredible pink color Brugie. Great job.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

sadly none of my first batch germinated. I had gnats! I could cry now!

Grass Lake, MI(Zone 5a)

Looks like you got some good color there Shirley! Way to go!!!
It is good it is holding up to your heat right now. Just got stung right below my thumb and it feels like its about 95 degrees too. Ice is melting fast! She is very pretty!

Hillsboro, OH(Zone 6a)

Which of yours did not grow Kell? I did okay with the seeds I had. Maybe you should take some since you have a better climate. LOL

Lima, OH(Zone 5a)

Yes, Kell and Shirl, this is the cross I was looking for.
Gorgeous!!!

Angleton, TX(Zone 9a)

Shirley, I am so happy for you. It's your cross and it is beautiful. It seems to be doing remarkably well in the heat and that sure is a plus for me.

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

Its beautiful Shirley!!!

I hope all your crosses are a great as this one!!!!

Tulsa, OK(Zone 6b)

Beautiful, Shirley! I have a concrete block next to my tallest brug, just so I can get my nose close to the flowers to smell them. It has a whole bunch of buds on it right now, I don't think I'll need the block when they open!

Austell, GA(Zone 7a)

Gorgeous!!Bravo!!
Brenda

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Thanks everyone. I appreciate your great comments. I just went out and took another picture so you can see that the heat has not affected this one at all. That is something that is important to me in a brug.
