This so fun to watch.
Ornata.
Nana blooming.
Sometimes buddy, I just don't like you very much! LOL Are the buds always hot pink like that?
Congratulations banana man! Awesome colors in your Musa!!!
The yellow part looks like a bunch of toes! Okay, I like you just fine. I'm jealous. So there! ha ha ha I cannot complain. I have several bananas, including the one from you. I just grow them for the leaves. How shallow huh? LOL
LOL It does look like toes!!!I have always grown them for the leaves,I never had a bloom until I got these Ornatas from John
(Note to self "Kiss up to John" LOL). Just kidding!!!! I think I have 8-9 bananas right now and I am trying to figure out if I should try to store them all or trade most of them out. I think have four types. What WAS I thinking?? I wonder if Arby's would notice their solarium missing? That really is neat root! I gotta go transplant brugs. Sigh. Just finished mowing before I came in and man is it hot!!!
Same here Seed,it is a cooker, gotta head to PO,your book is on the way.
Moretz, here comes your Nana and Ear.
Pondi if you look in here, you get a book too.
That is gorgeous! Congratulations.
I have a question about bananas. Can you tell the difference between the kinds if they are not blooming? Are the leaves different?
John may be able to tell you,I do notice a difference in my Saba,it is a pale green, ornatas seem to have a red center vein,my hardy is a little darker green, with no stripes or red in it.
Brugmania awesome! wish I could grow them here..we get some off the plants at work every so often.they taste so much better.
Amazing John!!!I love seeing your plants!!You are getting quite a collection going,I am so excited to even see a bloom,I can only imagine eating a nana grown in my yard!
Looks like you need a monkey!
Are you volunteering root? lol
LOLOLOL eco.
Now that I have my composure back, John, that was RUDE. I have never had one bloom, much less have fruit but boy do I love seeing all of everyone's on here. I actually just love the leaves and the plant itself. I would like to ask for a Mysore pup some day. THe reason is, one of my good friends is from India and I am going there to visit with her. She has spoken of Mysore, India as has Dinu. I would love to have one of those.
Okay, this is where I starting kissing up to John WAY big time. LOL If I could grow bananas like that, I could cut a lot of bucks off my grocery bill! :) Wonder if he'd notice me hiding in his back yard?? And I have five and a half of my own monkeys!!
Hey Badseed, with six you get eggroll.
Wow, different nanas--do they taste different too?
Too cool!
Dang Root!!!!!
I Check every nana ,every day.......still no buds......
I think Johns nanas like you better!
LOL Weeds! I like eggrolls too. ;)
Must be why you did it.
LOL,CC,I was wondering when you would show up!I'll have to teach you my Nana bud dance,it is simular to the Hokey Pokey.
I only do the chicken dance...LOL
no wonder they're not budding......
Yep,Thats it!I bet all the wing flapping is blowing the bloom spirits away! It's more of a shake it all about thing!
Aw, Root, come on down to Georgia for our weekend swap, gonna let a few miles stop you?
Vi,what I would spend on gas for my 454 truck,I could cover the back yard with varigated Nanas!!!LOL!
))~;
Don't know how much gas would cost ya. But you could fly nonstop roundtrip for $147 Delta or Airtran. *hint hint* lol
Yah, aren't we worth it? I can just imagine suitcases stuffed with nanas!
Eco,I'd have to have three seats to come back!one for me,two for plants!I have not seen a plant I didn't like!so that I could not grow!Maybe you gals will clean up there and we can trade in spring?
roflmao 'Sir do you mind if we open your suitcase?'
'Um...that depends...do you like to garden?'
*banana bribery insues*
John has teased me with some things he is bringing!I know I could not get them in carryon!should have seen me coming back from Iowa swap,I had a loaded truck!
