Bob... i do not do grass, that is Roger's forté. the only plant he cares for around here. with the heat index factor of over 110+++F, he sprays the grass on the side and front of the house everyday. yeah, he always has a sprayer on his hands LOL!!!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

oh sorry. I knew Arthur was wrong when I wrote it. He looks like an Arthur though. LOL! I don't do grass either Ma Vie...... so our grass is half dead.

Another beautiful pic!

Oh MaVieRose!! Please may I have seeds of THAT?? Check my list and see if there's anything that appeals. Or, maybe you'd like a peacock? Not this one, my husband wouldn't go for that (we might have a juvenile like this), but the Datura seeds would definitely eat less! LOL :~)

thanks Kell, my old cheapo camera still have not failed me yet :). good thing we are not talking for Roger's ears to hear... or he would be teasing me again non stop. probably assuming i find a new BF LOL!

no peacock for me maggidew :). in asian tradition peacocks are considered bad luck. don't ask me why, i just heard that from the old folks. i never questioned it before. which datura did u want me to save u seeds for? i know i will have tons in due time. for the time being i try not to allow the datura to bear seeds. i just want them to keep on blooming. i normally allow seeds to set later part of Sept. still plenty of time for them to mature till winter set into my area. lmk. i know for sure, this time i need to save seeds. most of my datura came from Canada. i have a good friend whom i have been trading seeds with.

Um, sorry, I didn't know about the bad luck thing with peafowl. Are ducks considered bad luck too?

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

not that i know of. i guess not, cause there are many duck farms in the asia. both the egg and the duck meat are considered a delicacy.

It is a beautiful bird Maggi. I love the picture.

MVR, your dats are gorgeous. Think I should write to Arthur and tell him about this thread? LOL!!

Kell, have a safe trip. Talk to you when you get there if your laptop is still in one piece. If not, you better beg, borrow, or steal one or you will be climbing the walls wondering what is going on at Daves.

High Desert, CA(Zone 8a)

make my day Brugie LOL! seriously, i don't think he would mind. the only thing is... he will never cease to make a joke out of it. he claims i need a life. plants and gardening isn't everything.

did u know all those dats were the ones that emerge from the pots close to where the dats where from the old place we moved out of. am sure glad i still got some :)! hopefully all these i got out of the pots are the triples i had last year. keeping my fingers crossed that they are!

have a safe trip Ms. Kell. push come to shove, if the laptop got mess up, u can still go to a local library or computer cafe to keep abreast with the going on here @ DG :).

city?? lol sticks, AR(Zone 7a)

maggie what do you do with your peacocks in the winter? I have always thought that would be SOOOOOOOO cool--but wasnt sure how they survived the winter?--do they lay often? and do you sell the chicks? and can they defend themselves from small curious dogs? and do they eat your flowers? and umm well Ill have more questions later. cheryl
