African Mask Plant

San Antonio, TX(Zone 8a)

I got it at Walmart many moons ago. I think when I repot it I will use the same size only go with the plastic as the terra cotta deletes alot of moisture from the plant. Just my opinion for what its worth.

THAT'S what some of MINE looked like after being beheaded by Arizona sun. But I've got one big leaf left on one of them that just keeps getting bigger--no damage like others--this after I thought the thing was dead altogether--lucky I waited and didn't throw it out. It has no children oddly enough---it's just one big leaf. It only seems to like this one little corner that gets alot of light but no direct sun on leaves AT ALL. I can't figure out a digital camera but it's not like some of the posterchildren above anyway. I put the rest in a similiar situation, but not the fave corner. Nothing much's happening with them, but one of them actualy has a flowerbud that looks like it might actualy open and live. Everbody forget what I said about it liking lowlight--new growth in lowlight is just a sign it's not dead. Bright indirect works best in hot climates. Weird thing about water--it rots easily--even HERE.

Podperson,Good going =)
Sounds like you've figured it out. Hope you can post a picture of the bloom when it opens.

Not by a longshot. Well the bud did open and although it's nothing to scream about it's full of tiny seeds (I think that's what they are). Kinda loks like the inside of a Jalepeno pepper. Nothing flashy--just a little green cone with a seed sickle living in it. Gonna mother them and see what they do.
