HELP!!!! My gardener planted 6 new crepe myrtle trees this spring....3 weeks ago they bloomed beautifully...then quit.
They are losing deep rich green color in leaves...looking sick, leaves turning brown around edges. They get plenty of water, on a sprinkler system twice daily. Could it be too much water or the soil too alkine??? We live in the high desert in California. Crepe myrtles normally do extremely well here....many are seen around Would appreciate any advise ASAP!!! Don't want to lose these wonderful trees. Thanks!!!! sugarkitty

Welcome to DG Sugerkitty!
Wondering if you might have a problem with japanese bettles? Now mine only bloom for a short peirod of time and then they set seed and don't bloom again until next year.
Maybe someone will come along and help ya.
Sorry I couldn't help ya more.
Cutting off the seedpods after flowering and fertilizer usually encourages a second flush.
Sugarkitty, where is your gardener? I would contact him immediately--you may have gotten trees with a weak root system. In my limited knowledge, it's hard to kill CM.

My experience has been if you give them to much water they will develop powdery mildew. I know you must have temps in the triple digits, but I think I would cut the watering down.
Like Violabird said, contact your gardner.
Best of luck
