R.K.Laxman is a world renown cartoonist. The drawing is that of the "common man" as he calls him. He is featured in nearly every cartoon. Even a statue of this common man was erected in come city recently (I think, in Bombay). The character is that popular. He is one of my favourites and I had written to him with that request to his office in Bombay and he obliged me very quickly by mail. That was in 1990 and incidentally, he spent his childhood in Mysore, the city I live. He is the younger brother of the famous writer R.K.Narayan who has written som many English novels.
