This is yet another funny looking bug that decided to pass thru my garden. This one was a little strage looking with his "horn" on the back side. I watched it as it walked up the tree and then he stopped and stood on his tippy toes and curled his horn under himself and poked it in the tree bark! It was so weird!! Not sure what he called his self doing, but he soon went on about his merry way.
Can anyone help ID it so I can find out what he was doing?
TIA
Not the best pic, but you can sorta tell what I mean.

It's laying eggs in the bark, but I'm not sure what it is. What kind of tree was it on?
Pecan tree.
Geee I sure hope he winds up being a good bug! Lord knows I don't need any eggs hatching out in my trees!
Kinda looks like a "Leaf Hopper"
I copied this from a page about pecan pests:
Both southern green stink bugs and leaf-footed bugs attack pecan nuts. They puncture nuts before shell hardening and after shell hardening. If feeding is early the nuts drop.
Do you think it's a green stink bug? They said they are about half inch long.
edited to add this link. The green stink bug is on the far right. http://www.gaipm.org/pecan/scout/html/stink.html
