I'm dying here-that is so, so gorgeous!!! If you ever have
an extra tuber that you don't know what to do with it...
EMAIL me!!! Please!!!

Now that's breathtaking RA49. Thank you for sharing. How lovely. Someday I shall try lotus. Reminds me of a painted cloud.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8a)

wow! RA49........as Sunrize has said......what beauty! E.

Look at the colour! It's stunning!

Burlington, ON(Zone 6a)

Thank you.
It poured rain yesterday after I took that pic and the flower almost fell apart and looks so sad today but #2 opened this morning.
That pic was not edited in any way nor the one in thos post, and true to the actual colour. The flowers usually last 3-4 days, but gets paler each day and becomes almost entirely yellow by the time the pettals fall.
Lilypon, Lotus are hardey here in Zone 5 but I expect you would have to winter yours over in the garage or your basement, should you try one. [ go for it] I have never been able to successfully pass on tubers from mine and have them take but if I have any this fall that look like they may just work, I am willing to try if you are.
This is a pic from last year that shows the colour on day 3.

Oh I am definitely willing to try. I read in a previous
post that the biggest danger to the lotus is taking the
tuber before it is truly dormant. If we could try exchanging in early spring (April) before growth starts
it just might work!!!

I'm a little behind in this thread..
Sorry..not enough hours in the day LOL

I'm enjoying all the photos very much.
RA....your lotus is gorgeous!

Jagonjune..your eyes are deceiving you..I think what you are thinking is the pond..is actually the grass area behind the agrden that is washed out by the sun in the phto. The tiny pind is in front of the bench with one Iris in it and a young Elephant Ears. You have a couple of great Hostas there..

Elaine..what sweethearts you have..Anna and Jenna..they are just adorable. I is fun to see some of your garden..I often say to friends.."there is a lady who has over 450 roses on DG's"

Have a great day every one! I'm going to take some more photos of my garden.

Here is one that I took at night with my new camera on the night setting. These are Oriental Lilies. Muscadet is the name of the white one...and I think the pink one is Stargazer.

found another photo that my daughter took of part ofo the back garden, with the old greenhouse in view! The huge rose in front is the Wichuriana "Francois Juranville".....this one has just grown by leaps and bounds this summer! E.

Liz my pond is now in the photo forum-Weeds scanned some of
my pics and posted them there. Where's your garden?

Newcastle, ON(Zone 5a)

Your roses are so lovely Elaine..oh to have a whole bush covered in blooms.
I have one bloom on my new Gertrude Jekyll rosebush..healthy looking bush but so far only one bloom.
