Has anyone grown this before? I saw one today and just had to have it :-) With it's scalloped edges and small dainty flowers it is such a interesting plant. The one I bought hasn't bloomed yet but just on the verge.
Also is this plant in the succulent family?
If anyone has grown this before would love some pointers. The information I have on it says to place the Kalanchoe in a sunny location, water thoroughly, let dry before watering again.
Would like to know more about this plant if anyone has grown it and one other thing----why would it have on the marker ,that was in the plant, propagation prohibited???
Thanks --- Gayl
Kalanchoe Prestige
There are hundreds of species of Kalanchoes... some like sun, and some do not. Some are very hardy and some are total wimps.. and some spread like weeds. Do you happen to know the species name? Is it 'prestige'? Never heard of that name.
Thanks JewelOrchid and BotanyBob for the informantion.
I was unaware of this plant and had no idea there were so many different species. I had looked in my Encyclopedia of Gardening and there wasn't really much on it for me to find out, but with a little more searching I found out that 'Prestige' is the name of a series of this plant. The actual name for the one I have is 'Revelry'. Have you grown that one before BotanyBob? Hope it isnt one of the ones that are whimps :-)
JewelOrchid it did come with the pretty foil around it and altho it does look nice that way I have already taken the foil from around the plant and tomorrow (when the signs are right) I will move it to another and better pot. Also I think you hit the nail on the head with the prohibited thing. That was the first time I had ever seen 'propagation prohibited' on a plant and thought it was really odd. But guess when my Kalanchoe get bigger I will be breaking the law because I will certainly have to propagate it LOL
Thanks again ------- Gayl
