Monika have you ever seen a brug do that before with the calyx inside a calyx?

Edited

Does this mean the plant has tetraploid genes?

Joydie, double flowers are actually 1 1/2 half flower. When concentrating the genes for instance through hybridizing, it will be finally 2 flowers in one, which is unwanted.
Almost all doubles out of this cross have this problem.
Like I said: its a hybridizers dead end!
