Brugie
What is the gorgeous blue flowers in your photo. That is the bluest blue I have seen for a flower.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Which one Liz?

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Busybee, that is a camera problem. It is a tibouchina and is more purple than blue. I love the color it came out on the digi, but I don't think it will do that in real life. Sorry to disappoint you. I just don't know how to make the change to get it to come out right when I snap pictures.

North Vancouver, BC(Zone 8b)

Root, the one that looks like a double something.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Those are triple yellow Dats, that needed to be deadheaded,it did it last night, they are setting pods already.

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Poor me, not only have I never grown a castor bean but I have never seen one either! Is that where they get castor oil from? I sure like the bright red one that Debby has!

Debby, your garden is just charming. Love your little touches. Your basket is lovely.

Brugie, I am so impressed with your tropical bed. I would love to see more pictures. I am so impressed that just a few months ago you had snow there and no plants! Amazing the work you do!

Root you must grow everything in your yard. Does your wife share your passion?

Gonzales, LA(Zone 9a)

OK, Ya'll, where do I get a start of these things, do I start them from seeds or have to get a little plant in the spring from someone? I'm trying to make a jungle down here in La. and I need some of those Castor's.

Kentwood, LA(Zone 8b)

I have some of the green/red stem plants and some seed also one with a redish color leaf but not like the one Debby posted. Let me know what other plants you are looking for.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Poor ME??????????Hold on here Kell!!I just got out of the Brug forum!Seeing pics of your Brugs, one with tendrils a foot across!!!!!!!!More blooms on one Brug then I have had in a year,LOL!!!!I will trade all my castors to just sit in your yard for a night!!!
I just sent my last seeds off, will make sure you get some this fall,Dw monica doesn't really comment on my plants,or sit and enjoy them with me,But I do have a continuos parade of people she brings over!and from her looking at DG at work 2 people have joined,so I guess I'm haveing some effect,I did have a small GT blooming she proudly took to work for a few days,LOL!

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

The castor bean that I posted is a Purple Castor Bean. I will have seed for who wants it this fall. They are blooming now. If Mother Nature doesn't do anything funny, I will have seeds.LOL.

Ellicott City, MD(Zone 7a)

I'll post a picture of mine tomorrow, but it's about 5 ft. tall now and still growing......

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Great Shirley,I love seeing them all, don't know why I like this plant so much,it has to have the worst blooms of any plant, sure makes up for it with leaves!

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

These aren't this year..was a few years back. But if you keep the flowers off them..they will get huge ..these were just under 17 feet.My friend is just under 6 ft tall.Several types.

Eclipse, That's the greatest Castor bean which I have ever seen! It's awesome!

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Now don't laugh. This is a dwarf green that I believe is to grow to three foot. I don't think it is going to make it. :-) Is this what happens when you don't remove the flower? Actually, the other two are doing fine. I just don't have enough water to keep this bed moist. Have decided to let it go. We are bone dry here.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Doc, you should see the ones on the big plants. I'll have lots of seed. Now, if I could only remember the names of them all. I think the only ones with seed now are the Dwarf Green and Red Spire.

Panhandle, FL(Zone 8a)

They have names?

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

Shirley, my Dwarf Greens are 5' tall, I've kept the flowers off of them.

Harrisville, MI(Zone 5b)

Yes weeds,One on the right is Zanzibariensis, and the one one the left is Comminus,I also have Thai, red spire and Impala from Debby.

Gone2seed,that is a dandy,be sure to keep some seeds, maybe we can trade this fall?

Hattiesburg, MS(Zone 8a)

Brugie, I too am amazed at all the blooms you have with such a late summer. Very pretty.

Chariton, IA(Zone 5b)

Thanks Barb. I'm still waiting on my favorites to bloom though. The brugs are very late for me. Some are just now setting tiny buds, so I have to be happy with what I have, even if they are castor bean blooms. LOL!!

Knoxville, TN(Zone 7a)

Here are mine as of last week. I think they are pretty large considering they don't receive full sun, and they still have plenty of growing time. Nat
