Just lost my best friend

Heartbroken doesn't even begin to describe my loss, so I beg you, my friends, to please help me out. I took him to the vet for what we thought was going to be a kindney stone operation, instead they found a large tumor which they removed--but he died on the table. I wasn't able to say goodbye!

I had Apollo2, for 8 years, raised him from a pup along with his mother, (a Reg. Dobie), when his mom died, I was #1 And he was #2. 2 good, 2 sweet, 2 nice, 2 special. He slept with me, watched over me. and loved me. He always had the most wise and compassionate eyes. The best dog I ever had.

I just dug his grave and buried him, wrapping him in his favorite towell, and covering his grave with our native shiny rock. But now what do I do?? How can I sleep tonight without him? I live alone, he was my very best friend...

Just crying my eyes out, may be gone from here awhile.
Please pray to give me strength.
