i planted morning glories all types this year. one of my favorite flowers. i have yet to see a bloom on any of them. they are running good and leaves are decent looking if i can keep the caterpillers off them. but no buds yet. is it too late for flowers are they just slow this yr due to all the rain. morning glory question
imzadi, are they planted in full sun?
What are you like zone 8? I would say you still have plenty of time. I have found that some of the named varieties take longer to bloom and make mature seeds-which are often bigger than so so varieties. Make sure you don't over do nitrogen fertilizer. Other than that, I think you are just gonna have to sit and wait! LOL The only ones I have blooming are Milky Ways that self sowed. I didn't start any others this year. I may have to throw some out there though.
Good news - this is NOT too late to flower. Mine are JUST starting to bloom - you can easily expect blooms well into October. The hot dry weather is what they thrive on. Give it a month! Good luck!
thats a relief because i was getting worried over them. i havent had any blooms yet. now i am watching for buds. thanks Imzadi
In fact the blooms last much better as it begins to cool in early fall. Sometimes they can go almost the whole day. I am just now really starting to get some blooms.
