Merremia aurea

Mount Angel, OR(Zone 8a)

My daughter brought home seed from Mexico and because of an earlier thread I was able to identify 5 of these that I was able to get to come up. It looks like it is basically a yellow morning glory and now I think it is forming buds, not sure if that is what they are but anybody familiar with this guy?http://www.plantadviser.com/plants/merraure.shtml

Lenjo, did you start them from seeds this year? I planted a yellow glory named Ipomoea ochracea last year. It grew a lovely vine but I never got any flowers. Can't wait to see your blooms on this one.

Yes, Sue, I did , and it is growing fairly well, I have only put one directly into the ground, I gave my daughter's friend one , and I have 2 in one pot, and one in another. She almost didn't get this seed through customs. But she said she was doing this for her gardening freak Mom and they let her through.

BTW, I am almost as proud of being able to put in link in my thread as growing these merremias. I have been trying to figure out this for a year. This was my first success , it is so simple but I had made it too complicated.
