bay laurel
prain, it could be one...my mom has one that is at least the same size. We are always plucking leaves from here tree to cook with. Lisa
Prain... My bay leaf "bush" will not tolerate our winter temps (zone 6b) so I bring it in for the winters... and I DO use the leaves for cooking. You might take some leaves to the local extenion service or whatever equivalent you have... better safe than sorry. I also have several laurels in the garden, but they don't have edible leaves...
Thank you both I will take a leaf to the local collage , they have an agra dept. they should know . If so we,ll get cooking. Thanks again.
Hi Prain!!
there is a simple way: crush a leaf and smell it - if it is the same smell like those of the bay leaves at the spice rack, then you go ahead. If not, you need one.
If you want, I 'll write a recipe for brown lentil soup in the recipes forum. Just ask!!
Dimitri
