MG from CO-OP

"down the Shore", NJ(Zone 7a)

Interestingly, out of 6 varieties I started so far, 4 are showing variegated leaves. This was unexpected! I'd have to look up the names... Anyone else seeing variegated foliage?

Hey John!!
I didn't make the Co-op but I do have a MG with variegated leaves. I have a tie-dye MG that I recieved in a trade and they are different than the regular MG's.
Here's one in the Database.

My leaves look alot like these, how about your's?

Mollybee and Pardancanda, I too have MG's with variegated leaves, I bought seed from Stokes, they are supposed to be dwarfs and they are all in hanging baskets. One is Dwarf Picotee and the other is Mini Bar Rose, no blooms yet but the pots are sure filled out, I planted the seed directly into hanging pots. Molly, the leaves look like your link.

The link was a Tie-dye Morning glory. Its in the database under Morning glory.
Hope that helps.

I'll have to post the names tomorrow. They are Japanese and hard for me to remember. Thanks for the photo link, mine are more "streaky".

MD &, VA(Zone 7b)

I only got a chance to start 2 varieties from the coop and both have variegated leaves :) ummm, can't remember the names, LOL.

Cortlandt Manor, NY(Zone 6a)

Yep -- some of mine also have those varigated leaves, can't remember which ones.

Tokyo, Japan

Wow! Glad I didn't choose a Japanese nickname!!!

What's Japanese for unforgettable?

Toadsuck, TX(Zone 7a)

Mine are varigated, and streaky too, John. And the leaves are ivy like, but not heart shaped. How about yours?

Several of mine are varigated and some very pretty leaf shapes. I've already harvested some seeds from the Imperial Palace surprise MG. Some of the flowers are huge.
I'll look up the names and post.

Yes, "eyes", mine are more ivy shaped also! Have to go dig out those names. They are finally starting to grow now that temperatures have climbed into the 90's!

Catlady if you are interested in trading those IP MG seeds let me know.

Yes catlady -- several of my Japanese MG's are doing great -- but my 3 Imperial Palace ones did not like the rain we had here at all. -- They were doing great indoors -- but I checked last week and they don't look like they will be making it. I might have to do a little seed trading to try them again next year.

Looks like a black and white photo..........LOL, but maybe this will give you an idea of the shape and varigation on the leaves. Looks like I shouldn't have used the "zoom"!!
