My Japanese MG 'Kikyo' opened it's first flower two days ago, this was taken then. Sorry the pic is very bad, I made it look better with photoshop, so I think you'll get the idea how it looks. The petals we're "cut" and there were small petals growing from the stamens. A hybrid I guess..
It's pretty anyway, there are more buds coming, wish the plant would grow a bit more so I could put it in a nice pot in a showy place :)

Yeah, and I just remembered there are two plants in the same pot, maybe the other one will be different colour? :)

I asked about the flower from a Japanese MG grower (in Japan), and this was his reply :

Yes, it is flower of 'Kikyo'.

Usually, 'Kikyo' type has also weak semi-double gene.
So, stamens of 'Kikyo' flower easily change to small petals.
And the petals are cutted in fertile soil.
Your picture is normal 'Kikyo' morning glory.

Today a flower opened in the other plant. It looks nice, light blue with a hint of purple.

A new flower opened in the dark one yesterday, it was really weird looking, almost like it was radiated or something. Well it's normal for the most Japanese MGs I guess..
Wow! that does look as if it's radiating! Very impressive bloom!
