mine either :(
WISH LIST for Secret Trade
I guess I should post since I don't have a trade list up. I really like tropical stuff and have a 7' palm tree in my front yard right now. It looks great in NH. Any tropical stuff that can be used as an annual or overwintered is fine. Plenty of greenhouse space. I'll pass on brugs as I am overwhelmed now already. I also recently decided I want to build up my shade garden, so hostas and the like would be greatly appreciated. Hope this helps some generous person out there.
Yeah!! Mine finally posted, now I know what to send!!
Mine hasn't posted yet :(
I have have shade, shade/sun and sun areas that have space to plant, also have two ponds. I am open to most anything. I really like iris and daylillies, and I also have room for a few houseplants.
I guess what I am saying is that anything goes!!!
Lori
I love everything! I have more room in our garden for sun plants. Lately, I have been getting into grasses and love fuzzy ones. I love small sedums too! Our garden is in it's second season of rejuvenation, so whatever I receive, I will cherish!
I have a small trade page too! :-D
Dope ~ I was so busy working on my secret trader that I missed this thread! I have a small wish list here at DGs:
http://davesgarden.com/tl/Morph/viewbystatus/4483.html
I was really bummed that I missed the Japanese Morning Glory co-op so any seeds from that would be REALLY cool! I know they are not plants, but they are so intriguing to me that I value them as much as a plant!
I'm into vines right now and really like everything & anything there like Clematis, Wisteria and the Japanese Morning Glories of course...
I don't think I have Pink Lily of the Valley on my wish list, but those are really cool, too. I like the white ones also :)
I like bright color for the garden, too. So, anything that would bring bright color to attract butterflies & birds would be fun :)
I forgot to add herbs to my list! Lemon grass or fun herbs that I can put into my homemade soaps! And, scallions, too though I know those aren't an herb ~ lol.

I am trying to get more hardy geraniums, toad lilies, ruffled or big eye daylilies, yellow hosta, and really anything else....Perennials preferably....
First of all, let me say that I will be THANKFUL for anything!
The surprise part is as cool as the plants!
I love almost anything except single aquilegia canadensis. I have fallen in love with ya'lls double ballerina-skirted
clumbines though.
I dont care much for yellow flowers, except roses) I guess because you see yellow everywhere around here.
Starting my garden from scratch, and I have a "hot bed" for the hummers and butterflies with reds, pink, puirples in them. Also starting a purple and gold bed. The front bed is
gonna have oranges blues and a little white. But I love most any type of plant you can think of. If it reseeds or otherwise has babies, I love em! If it can take heat and not always a lot of water, even better.
For those of you who have already given me something, it is named after you. And as so-cal (I think) said, I wil remember you forever, b ut in my case even IF it dies.
Love roses, cacti, succulents, herbs, cannas, sansevierias, sedum, crape myrtles, tropicals, bulbs, annuals, iriii,
perennials.... well you can see it would be easier to say what I DONT like than what I want.
But specially butterfly/hummer/songbird plants, stuff that is hot pink, purple, blue etc. I must agree with CC, the louder, the tackier, the better!
But no plant could ever be tacky!
So rest assured as I said at the beginning, it dont take MUCH to make me please, happy, and THANKFUL!
Love, Lav
ps- I collect chile pepper stuff (my kitchen is done in chile pepper decor), love to read.
And I crave shasta daisies.
OK that is all!
Okay, Secret Trader, you have until tomorrow to post to give me some clues. If you haven't posted by then, I hope you will be happy with what I pick. Pam
Pam, you have some great stuff, I'm sure they will be tickled pink!
Feels so good to know I finally got my box off in the mail. Now I have to wait for her to get it, hopefully she'll like it.
Darn I missed this trade. Still trying to landscape and getting stuck on roses. Maybe next year!!
I'm sending mine out tomorrow and hope that my person likes their box :)
Got mine out today, I hope the person it's going to likes what I sent.
Louisa, Busy, Busy, Busy, Girl you are!! LOL!!
I sent mine out today too! Man it was tough! Hope they like it.
Oops sorry I didn't catch that we were supposed to post here, hope i didn't inconvenience whoever got me. I like most anything and have plenty of room. Really into roses, and clematis, and anything pretty much perrennial and flowering. have plenty of shade, morning or afternoon sun, but am limited on full sun. Will love whatever I get. Also love container plants and houseplants and veggies and just about anything looking for pampas grass. Ramle, Ramble, Ramble, would be happy to receive whatever you have to send. Tracy (this is so much fun!!)
Won't get to send mine out now til the 16th, sorry, but I was out of town this past Mon & Tues and missed my "window". I try to ship thingsno later in the week than Tues. Might do it Sat am???
mine will go out Monday too, having a shower Saturday but hope it will be appreciated when it does get there.
I prepared the plants to day,,but don't want to mail them on Thursday,,,they might sit in the post office over the weekend...so I'll mail them on Monday. Had to find a bigger box too..........
Ya know I have seen several people say that they don't mail out late in the week, I was one of them. Until I went to the PO a couple of months ago and pretty much told the lady there behind the counter the same thing. She then told me that most folks think the same thing, but it is untrue. In fact the mail is always in route. It "might" have to sit in the PO on Sunday, but if anything it will be there for the carrier to pick up for his route the next morning. Sooo now I pretty much just mail out when I have something ready.
Just thought I'd let ya'll know.
I shipped my box last Thurs (6 days ago) priority mail and I don't think it arrived to it's desination. I sent another box priority to the same state at the same time. Both were marked perishable. The other box came back today with a bright yellow sticker on it that said:
"Forward time expired, Return to sender"
It didn't get here unitl 5:00 p.m. so it was to late to call the PO to inquire about this.
I haven't heard anything about the secret trade box yet. I did get delivery confirmation on it. Can use that to track the package to find out just where it's at?
This is too weird and the post office has me upset but there is not a heck of a lot that I can do until I find out what's going on.
Mollybee I have found Sat is my favorite day to mail. The people almost always get the package on Monday.
O yea Mysitc I too have had that happen. I have mailed out tons of stuff on Saturday and 99% of the time it gets there Monday or Tuesday at the latest.
Branka - you can go to the USPS site and type in your delivery confirmation number http://usps.com/shipping/trackandconfirm.htm?from=global&page=0035trackandconfirm There's a good chance it won't get scanned until it reaches the office it's destined for. Then the carrier will scan it again when it's delivered.
Branka, you might wanna go to the 'other" thread...someone mentioned your name when thanking for thier surprise.
Hugs, Lavanda
Branka,
I received your secret trade box. I posted on the other thread. THANK YOU SO MUCH! What a wonderful box of goodies. I have them all potted up and resting in their new homes. I alsways try to pot my new babies so I can leave them in half shade (even if they say full sun)untiul they recover from mailing. That way, they get a good start after I repot them where they need to go :-), besides this way I can keep a better eye on them.-
Please don't worry, sorry I didn't post sooner.
After reading the latest posts I mailed the box out today. The box I found was rather large, and what else could I do but fill it up! Just about had to hock the farm for the postage, but hey,,,who cares when you're talking about plants! My secret pal has yet to post, nor have I noticed her posting on other DG forums..hope she's still around! I can't wait for her to open her box...
BTW, I know this may sound foolish, but I sent potted plants, soil and all. I know I spent more on postage but these were plants I dug and potted this spring and they were looking so good I couldn't resist, and couldn't, for the life of me, remove the soil.

LaNell, I know you did a great job!! Your secret trade is gonna love you for sure!!
"eyes"
Already potted! Wonderful your secret trader will love that! Tracy
Moss Rose, yes it is more for postage, problem can be that it is generally not allowed to send soil between states. Some are very particular that all traces of soil be washed away. Most plants will transplant very well even when sent soil-less.
