I was "wowed" by the Nemesia KLM and Nemesia National Ensign in the Park Seed catalog, but I've heard mixed reviews about how it actually blooms in the garden. Has anyone had experience growing it in Zone 4 or above? Easy to direct sow? How did it bloom for you?
I have heavy clay soil which is on the dry side, and I'm pretty much a throw and grow girl. Anything that requires alot of babying will have a short shelf life in my garden. I'd appreciate your feedback-thanks in advance!
Any luck growing Nemesia?
I've grown nemesia a few times here in zone 5. I start it about 8 weeks early indoors. I don't think it will give you much bloom time if you direct seed it in your zone. Last year it didn't seem to do too well for me ~ I think it was too cold and rainy and probably prefers warm weather. It's a nice plant for containers and window boxes.
Good to know, PoppySue. I really want direct sow seeds, as I already have way too many to get started indoors. Based on your feedback, I'll probably pass on the Nemesia and just gaze at the pretty pictures in my catalog! Thanks!!!
