I planted 2 korsa (sorry if spelling is incorrect) 2 years ago. I generally have great luck with all plants. However, both have very yellow and very few leaves. These trees are blooming in my area -= not mine! What's wrong?
Thanks for any suggestion you can provide.

dogwood - korsa with yellow leaves
Kathy I believe you mean Cornus kousa, the Japanese Dogwood. A great choice since they don't suffer the diseases and pests of the native Dogwood. I think they take a couple of years before they flower. I intend to grow some of these lovely trees myself since they flower later in the season than other Dogwoods. I don't know which State you live in but many of us have had really wet springs and this could lead to yellowing and falling leaves. On the other hand, you may have one of the cultivars whose young foliage is yellow to lime green or your soil might be too alkaline. However, I suspect that my first inclination is correct. They need full sun to partial shade and a moist, acidic, well drained, highly organic soil. Just a note to finish here - you might want to remove your email address from your post to protect your privacy. :-)
