Rooting Solandra Maxima

Miami, FL(Zone 10b)

I just received a few cuttings of this wonderful vine from a neighbor, and would like to know if anyone has ever tried rooting it before. The cuttings have little 'bumps', similar to those in Brugmansia, so I just put them in water for now. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

Olga

I rooted my cuttings in soiless mix, and used some root hormone. So far none of them have wilted so perhaps they will make it :). I will keep posting...

Olga,
I root mine in sand.

Well, I must say all of my 4 cuttings have turned brown and wilted, so I guess my method was not successful. I will go and visit my neighbor and see if next try is succesful. Glory, is there anything special you do to the cuttings? I have heard about anti-fungicide, do you use any fungicide?
