Favorite Whites

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

So much emphasis is put on brug colors... we never talk too much about the white brugs. What's your favorite white??? And why?........

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

versi Alba and Cypress gardens.

Barnesville, GA(Zone 8a)

duh...What makes the whites so different, the scent? Can I ever find out which white I have?

Cedar Key, FL(Zone 9a)

ditto Snows choices.....

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

Violabird - you probably won't find out which one yours is for sure. There's a lot of unnamed white ones out there. Seedlings produce a lot of whites....

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

poppysue, it is. I had it bloom last fall one time. I love the shape on it. I'm going to use it for crossing this year.

Milton, FL(Zone 8a)

Versi Alba.

Tonasket, WA(Zone 5a)

rootdoctor, love the photo of your white brug. I take it for granted that you have to do like i do take cuttings and hold them over for spring. I have 5 cutting plants in the greenhouse and they are getting large. The white one i have is from Logees Brug. species. the other one i have is Charles Grimaldi. I grow them through the summer in large pots on the deck. i think this year I will try one or two in the ground. Donna

Coal Center, PA(Zone 6a)

'Whites' are my very favourites.
I love ALL the white brugs (o:

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Ge, I would have to say Kell's Girlie Girl because a good friend named it after me! I have not seen it in person, but it looked so sweet but with an attitude in the pictures.

Most of my list are ones I have never seen in person. I would have to put extended DW on the top of my list. I have bought it twice and still no cigar. Arborea is so perky I just love it. Monika's Charleston looks incredible.

My double white is great, it has so many different blooms on one tree.

Co.Wicklow, Ireland(Zone 8b)

Kyle's 'Pristine' is a real eye catcher with a lovely shape!

Here is one I got from Larry in NC...it's called Snowcone...it is a very bright white.

I'm only going by ones I've seen bloom, so I might change my mind in a bit:)
I love all the ones named so far.

This is my favorite white, Danielle, named after my daughter and hybridized by Monika.

Jeanne that is just gorgeous! Look how it shows off its blooms. I love its name!

Glory yours is great also! I bet it is stunning with when the backdrop of lantana is in full bloom.

I have to go look for Kyle's Pristine, must be special also!

What is the white brug that Barb had lost a few months back and was looking for, I believe she said it was one if her favorites of al brugs. It was a huge one!

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

Super Nova?

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

I think that was it.

Coal Center, PA(Zone 6a)

I have Super Nova a good size now. It has a big bloom.
Very nice brug (o:

Norwalk, IA(Zone 5b)

Mine are Ver Alba...because the flowers can be 24 inches long, Clare Mills..because the flowers can be 10 inches across.....and Inca Moon...because it has many great attributes..heat resistance, bug resistance, wind resistant, etc. Oh big vertical flowers too!Moonshine is pretty too.But then so is Betty Marshall.Oh shoot..too many to choose from!!LOL
:-)

San Leandro, CA(Zone 9b)

Abutilon......LOL......which brug do you not have blooming??? Are you going to post it??? LOL.........PLEASE!

And I will have to look up Kyle's favorties............

Coal Center, PA(Zone 6a)

Here Shredded White is blooming right now.
Actually, I think all my whites except Camille, super Nova, and my daughter's are in bloom.
But those three have buds (o: lol

Brugs here have brought me much joy this winter.
It is interesting how they perform for each of us.

Thumbnail by Abutilon

Just to many beautiful whites to choose from....I like them all!!!!

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

Abutilon, one of these days I hope you'll post a picture of your greenhouse - the whole structure. You sure are lucky to have it. You're brugs have been beautiful this winter.

FSH, TX

My favorite white is still the old Culebra. Leaves and flower are trully exceptional and set it appart from the rest.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

ah, hopefully I can see that one bloom and say the same thing this year!

rural, WY(Zone 3a)

My culebra is much to small to bloom but I figure it will be my favourite also. But currently my x knightii is my favourite, because it seems to produce flowers at the expense of leaves which is a good trait. Slow growing but heavy producer, heavily fragrant. Whenever my arboreas bloom, there may be a 3 way tie.

Bodrum, Turkey(Zone 10a)

My favorite white is a double white that I dont know the name of.

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

My first arborea bloom is just about open. The flower is small but I can't believe the fragrance!!

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

Here she is :] She's so cute!! The fragrance reminds me of Lily of the Valley...

Woodsville, NH(Zone 4a)

It's a beautiful flower Poppy.

Barnesville, GA(Zone 8a)

Like Lily of the valley--really Poppy?

I'm gona be in such big, BIG, trouble here:{

Medford, NJ(Zone 6b)

What a neat little flower! Reminds me of a starfish.

Newnan, GA(Zone 8a)

oh poppy, congrats! would love to see a side shot.

Westbrook, ME(Zone 5a)

I put some of Kell's sang pollen on it that Glory shared with me. I took a zillion pictures but not many came out very well. I stink at taking pics in the house. I broke my Pink Beauty & first Rosabelle flower trying to get pics. I promised myself no more pics in the house!! Lotta good that did - lol.
