I just heard of two new ones(at least they are new to me) and I was wondering if anyone on here has grown them yet and if so would you possibly be willing to share a few cuttings or even small plants. I'll be willing to look for anything you want in trade if I don't already have it.
The first one is called Summer Beauty--supposed to be a darker, more compact form of the Pink Delight and the other is a drawf plant called White Ball. The blooms on this one are supposed to be shaped like the honeycomb but with pure white blooms, plant grows only to 3 feet.
I found a lady in the Market Bulletin who has them, but she doesn't ship. She lives so far away from me that it would really be hard for me to get there. With traffic and the Price of the All Holy gas these days I have limited myself to only traveling when the pull of the plants gets so strong that the car starts itself, lol.

Stormy19, Just a suggestion but maybe another Dave`s gardner who lives closer to the lady will be willing to visit her and then ship to you.
Yeah - Stormy - where is she??
DUH, I told you all that I was losing it, grin. Azalea, she lives in Royston, I think she said it was near Athens. It never occurred to me to ask if anyone else lived up that way. So how about it, anyone near there? I got a new catalog from Jackson & Perkins today and there are 3 new ones listed in it; including the SummerBeauty. Price is way to steep though(16.95) when this lady is only wanting 3-4 dollars each. She doesn't ship though. If you want her phone #, Azalea, her ad is near the end of the Flowers For Sale section. Also, if you are looking for BLACK BAMBOO, check out the ad in there for Mableton. I got a huge piece(the cane was approximately 15 feet tall with the root ball measuring 18 x 24 for only 20.00. This guy is reasonable, will dig, trim to fit car and wrap in plastic. His prices start at 15.00 and goes to 45.00. Not bad when Wayside nursery is selling them for 125.00 for a gallon size pot. You can imagine how small that would be. He had a couple of stalks that were at least 8 inches around. Fantastic. I don't live far from there but shipping would cost an arm and a leg, but it would be worth the trip to get a start of it.
Sooo this is where you been hiding Stormy! Been looking for you!
Glad to hear you got your Black Bamboo! Can't wait to see it! Where on earth did you plant it? Soon as the weather warms up again I'm going to try and come by there to see ya.
