SoilGard™ Microbial Fungicide
I've never tried it, but I'm a sucker for trying new stuff. Figure it can't hurt. I usually don't have a damping off problem. One time in all the years. Good seedling starter and moving air will generally keep it from happening. Good luck with it if you purchase it and let us know how it worked.
debi_z,
I'm sure that SoilGard™ Microbial Fungicide, is a very fine product and lives up to its name. I don't know how much is costs, but can assume that it is several $$'s.
Chamomille tea also prevents "damping off". It is a proven remedy and has been used for years. It is a fraction of the cost.
Root rot is due mainly to poorly draining soil. Add some Perlite or Vermiculite to loosen up the soil and it should no longer be a problem.

They look pretty good today
I'm watering from the bottom. I never thought of doing that, "WET FEET"
I have a friend who owns a store, pet foods,garden & etc.
He's going to get some "Soilguard for me.
He didn't know too much about it. Can this be used outside?
Thank Ya,
Sandy
hi sandy,
yes you can use it right outside in your garden before you plant. it builds up the natural protection found in the soil, so that if there is too much rain, moisture it will work to prevent these diseases from happening. here is the website. you can read about it for yourself and i know they can describe it better than i.

last year i had damping off in 95% of my plants. of course it was too much water. i killed them with kindness as they say. so when i saw this i said, hey this might help me out if i do overwater. but now chamomile tea sounds good too. i don't think i'll need it outdoors since i have well draining soil, no clay here. but i can see wehere if you did this might be a god send.
good luck.
i also used there soap shield for plant disease, powdery mildew, black spot, rust and it worked fantastic.
